I'm glad to here you're able to exercise again. I am going to try to get outside and walk some , it's getting cooler here now.  It's in the 80's in the day time and 60's at night, so I'm going to walk next week about 6:30 at night and see if I can hold out!!  Have a good weekend. Judy

God has given me this day to use as I will. I can waste it or use it for good. Today is very imporant, because I'm exchaning a day of my life for it.

well!
the knee is doing much better i'm back to the treadmill.
last night i went to the gym later than normal. its a quiet gym at the times that i go usually just a handfull of peopple but last night there was NO ONE in that place just me and the girl who was going to close it.
to tell the truth it was alittle bit scarey. i' mnot loving the gymn late at night so i'll be sure to go earlier. the nice side was that i was able to play on some machines without anyone around seeing that i couldn't do anything with them unless they wre at the lowest weight possible!
It was neat to do the leg thingy one and the arm yanky thingy.
i'm very glad i'm back at a gym again working out. felt wonderful when i got home those endoforfans were jumping like crazy!
Yesterday was also a visit with the naturalist doc. I love that woman i feel she saved my life.
the thyroid meds are a dream. i'm feeling great.
the LBS is still a pain but not as bad as it was. as long as I stick with my diet which I've been doing.
now the hard part....to figure out how to change what without shaking the LBS tree but cutting calories so that I can SHAKE up the weight lose tree. arrrrrrggggg
The N Doc has some ideas so I' mworking with that. I've cut back on somethings I didn't realize were no no's.
she's also given me something for allergies instead of what i was taking becaue it was reacting with the thyroid stuff and keeping me awake at night. i don't know about anyone else but my allergies are nutszoid right now.hope this stuff works.
O I asked her about the results from past blood tests and my iron levels. I'm happy to report that she said mine were perfect! Everything else we're working on. I got lucky with the iron! gonna go buy a lottery ticket!

It does sound delish....I should drag out my blender.  I'm not much of a grazer...I think it's because I'm not a big TV person....and I like to get to bed fairly early (can't eat in your sleep!). But I remember when I was 145 and I know exactly what I ate each day....WELL under 1000 calories...as I would love to be that weight again, I just don't see it in the cards....

Good luck and keep us posted!

I should call them very healthy Smoothies instead of protein shakes - I add really good stuff, Joanie - fresh fruit (whatever I have on hand), yogurt, wheat germ, and I grind up my calcium horse pill so that I absorb all of it. This with a scoop of protein powder, ice, a smidge of water- and it's more the consistency of ice cream rather than a liquid shake - and just as delicious! I find that if I have this at night, I am much less likely to graze, which I did quite a bit of before I switched my strategy. I eat pretty well throughout the day (with the exception of the M&Ms - but I've gone a week without those little devils!), but the night time grazing turned into a horrible habit. I won't do this forever, I just want to replace these bad habits with healthy ones - so far, so good! Thanks for your great reply, I'm glad you're feeling good - but I sure commisserate with the feeling tired - be well, Maureen

I honestly cannot remember the last time I had a protein shake.  I weigh about what you do now...around 158 or so...and I also would like to be 145, but I don't see it happening.  Everytime I think about what I ate when I was 145...or how little I ate....I just can't picture it.

Feeling better is the main thing, and honestly, I feel pretty good.  I'm not saying I don't have my tired days, but pretty good for the most part.  As you said...and it's true....one day at a time!

Take care,
Joanie

Topic: Losing Weight
Good morning, friends. I'm back in the 150s - 159 this a.m. (down from 164.5 2 days ago). Haven't had an M&M in about a week; start my day with organic oatmeal and strawberries, no milk, no sugar; have a reasonable lunch, heavy on protein and veggies; and a protein shake for dinner. Daily calories coming in at under 1,000 and I know this is too little but I'm sick of feeling like sludge through a clogged pipe. What I am eating is very healthy - and I'm working out again on my lunch hour, and riding almost every night. My long-range goal is 145 - but my immediate goal is One Day at a Time... I feel better. I so wish for us all to feel good! Blessings to you all, Maureen

hi reenie i remember this though i never went to it. I can't go due to working in new london living in colchester and having to get home to take the dog out so by the time that is all done its after 6 already. then the 30 to 40 minute drive into middlesex it just won't work into my time budget.
then add inthe cost well due to the economy...can't fit it in there either.
gotta have meds, gotta have gas food and bill money any extra i have i like to use for recreational.
i'm sure this is fantastic and will be a big help.
let me know how you make out.

Hi, don't know if you received this - I just got this from Kim Daniels at Middlesex. Mike, is this the same one you and I did together a few years ago, or is this somewhat different? I'm thinking to do this, what do you think?

Need a
Fresh Start??   Weight loss and maintenance is extremely difficult, even with the help of bariatric surgery. Many patients find that they return to previous eating habits and behaviors, only to see the scale heading in the wrong direction. This can be incredibly frustrating, but we can help!! The Center for Behavioral Health at Middlesex Hospital is starting the “Fresh Start" program. This is a series of groups for those bariatric patients who have completed surgery and have regained some or all of their lost weight. Information will be given on a variety of topics, including managing emotional eating, making behavioral changes, and dealing with body image issues, and plenty of time will be given for group discussion.  The group will meet on the following dates and will be led by Kim Daniels, Psy.D.:      ¨    September 23rd                                   ¨    October 7th and 21st   ¨    November 4th and 18th   ¨    December 2nd     The group will meet from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Middlesex Hospital (rooms will be determined)You must attend each group, as the topics build upon one another. The cost of the group is $20 per session, with the requirement that you pay up front.      **Contact Kim at 358-8760 or [email protected] to sign up ** ***Your attendance will be held strictly confidential***

I just got a bottle of the generic stuff, as now that back on iron have the same problem.
WOW what a difference. It seems to be the only thing that works without lots of cramping along with it.
