Oh my gosh! You're really having a tough time, I'm sure you've got all the FMLA paperwork done and are protected for as long as the coverage period lasts. The pain in the right shoulder, neck and jaw is something I've never heard of. Wow! I'm going to be thinking positive thoughts for you. I see 4 doctors at least twice a month and you'd think at some point they would all get together and discuss what's going on with me. Don't you wish your doctors would all put their heads together and come up with a plan?
On my own soapbox now - I remember back in the day when doctors would run a battery of tests all at once to rule out eveything or cover all the bases. Now it seems that they approach problems like yours one thing at a time. I know it saves money and this approach is driven by insurance companies, bu it leaves you suffering for longer.
I still do protein shakes and always whey protein. My surgeon felt that you should get your protein from food, but I've kept going with the shakes.
Be well,
C.

No kidding! And the older I get, the longer it takes to fix me. I think my warranty ran out when I was 30.

Better living through chemistry, Pammy. You always crack me up. I'm so glad you had a good time at the game and it's great that you are getting out and about these days.
You reminded me of a time that The Man and I went t a Phoenix Suns basketball game. Shaq O'Neal was playing and it was a great game. Anyway, The Man often gets very good tickets to various sporting events. The law firm that he is retained by gives him tickets, various businesses give him game tickets and they are always very good. Sometimes, the tickets even come with a limo ride. The Man always gives me first option to go with him, but usually I prefer that he go with his boys. Anyway, this particular game we were sitting and waiting for the beer guy, the popcorn guy, the peanut guy, any guy to come and sell us something. They'd walk back and forth below us, but never come up our way. We'd yell down and they'd look up and then just walk away. I was starting to think it was a race thing until The Man pointed out that nobody around us was getting any service and they were getting up to go get drinks themselves. Neither of us really wanted any alcohol or something to eat, we were just miffed that we were being ignored. Finally, 3/4 of the way through the game, I got up to go to the bathroom. I turned around and right above my head... I mean the row directly behind me... I mean so close I could have touched it... was the private lounge. Two full bars, sofas that overlooked the court, waitresses in short skirts, large screen TVs showing the game and security people to keep out people who didn't have the right tickets. We had the right tickets. We're not very sophisticated people and obviously don't understand how the upper class live. How neither of us never turned around to see what was going on literally right behind our heads, I don't know.
Pammy, keep enjoying yourself and having a good time. Oh! If you can ever get tickets to a farm team hockey game... GO! I have the best time at those. At half time little kids take the ice. It's really a neat small town type of event and everybody gets into it.

Ok, sorry!
No, he's not in either of these photos; did see him - in fact, the first time I saw him, I was leaving the arena stage theatre with some friends and he shouted, "Maureen, oh my God, you look beautiful!" It always takes me by surprise to hear someone say I look nice or pretty or anything like that because I expect to hear the opposite - like what I recently heard from my husband (although he really didn't mean for it to come off that way) and my son (why did you marry here? what did you ever see in her?) - this is what I expect to hear about myself from other people because this is what I learned to believe about myself as a very young girl. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT ANYONE ELSE THINKS OF ME - good or bad - it only matters what I believe to be true about myself. Anyway, so the Guy followed me around quite a bit throughout the weekend and kept wanting to start up conversations - I just didn't want to engage.. how wierd is life anyway? This is a person I had thought I would die without at one time in my life (ok, I was 20 - all drama!!!)... now, I wanted to stay away from him... Life. Ah life. Have a good day, all. Maureen

Connie,
That's pretty much what's going on with me now. I've been off work now for 7 weeks. Heart rate is too fast, dizzy, lightheaded, chest pains with pressure in the left chest that turns into right shoulder pain that shoots up my neck into my jaw. I lay down - because of the dizziness and my heart rate drops like a rock as well as my blood pressure usually in the 70/40 range. I've seen two cardiologists and am scheduled to see a neurologist on September 2nd to try to figure this out. No one can agree. So I wait - hoping to still have a job to go back to.....
Protein - I'm still an UNJURY girl - www.unjury.com say Hi to Jerome if you call them - he is wonderful. And yes you really should still be supplementing your protein. I know lots of docs that don't do protein shakes but mine does and I've stayed pretty loyal to the 2 - 30 gram shakes per day. I mix them with Crystal lite and a low sugar fruit drink. Dismounting my soapbox.

Connie,
Phew! so glad it's not a bleeding ulcer. I'm also relieved that you checked out things with your surgeon on the gastro doc. My experience was scarey with the first gastro doc I saw and hated to think you'd end up on the wrong end of trouble. (small attempt at humor)
I've got my fingers crossed that they find out what the cause of the loss of blood volume and it's an easy fix. Don't you wish we could get fixed as quickly as we get broken??
Positive thoughts!

so.
I am not a sports fan. never have been. not even in high school. though i did like to watch the cross country runners in those little short with their sweaty bodys clingy tshirts.....ooooooo takes me back to before menopause and hot flashes were cause i had hormones instead of not having them like now!
anyways, i won tickets at work to a womens basket ball game at mohegan sun. my boyfriend is a sports freak. he played all during high school just bout any sports you name and won most of them. champion ship this and that from football to ping pong! i kid you not! so he was very happy that i won those tickets.
we went last night and had seats right in the middle of the court only 11 rows from the floor!!!!! it was awesome!
while i'mn not into sports I do enjoy watching live basektball. its a sport thats easy to keep track of for scoreing. if the ball goes in the net bingo they get some points! so its just a matter of keeping track of which color shirt is which team and who are we cheering for anyways? i'm just happy when anyone makes a basket but apparently your suppose to have a team favorite.
at half time they have dance groups come out and then cheerleaders come out then they have the team mascot come out and they all throw free shirts into the crowd!
what fun! we did not catch a shirt. the little brat behind us leaned forward to grab the only one that came towards us but he didn't get it the freak sitting 3 rows ahead of us did a jump that should get him into the next line up of team members.
I was thinking about how i want one of thseo free shirts so bad that i was willing to buy tickets to another game....HA!
it was fun our team won. they were the ones in the white shirts.
today i won more tickets to another sporting event. Lucky me! this one i'm not too thrilled with its baseball at dodd stadium in norwich.
the good part is that it is in the skybox. thats always fun. air conditioned so i don't have to sit in the sun that i hate especially now that connecticut has finally gotten heat in the 90's. the skybox also gives you free food! anotyher thing that the boyfriend likes!
i dont' care for baseball its hard to understand. people throwing balls trying to hit them they get so dirty running and sliding in the dirt. its boring and takes way to long to play.
but the other benefits out way the boring part.
did i mention that on friday nights they also do fireworks after???? i'm excited!
the past few weeks of thryoid drug has gotten me able to go out and do things again. i was so afriad to go anywhere that i'd get sick. now i'm feeling like myself again. i still get tired and need to rest and i still have minor episodes of the LBS but i am prepared with snacks.
i feel like i'm back in fighting mode.
not gonna let this crap get the best of me!
aren't drugs great?

wheres your brother live cause I"m going to kick his butt for you.
I went and googled. We don't want that. ok? ok. so forget about it its not you.
My ex husband had a grandmother who had perniious anemia. She was so thin you could practically see through her. she use to have to go for transfusions.
she lived to be well in to her late 80's. And every time we got together we all heard bout how she wasn't goign to be around for long cause she had pernicious anermia that its worse than just your regular old anemia. she was proud of her pernicious anemia.
why do old people have to have the worse of anything? they are older than some of their freinds who have already passed on but they have it worse and live longer? give me the worse stuff if thts how it works.
Now my low blood sugar is not no way near as difficult as what you've gone through over the past few years. but when I wasn't feeling good my low blood sugar was the worse of anyones anything! Cause it was happening to ME!
You on the other hand are always upbeat and your always there to say somthing encouranging to us when we are down even when you'd be going through all the different things that had happened to you.
car accidents medical issues back neck even family passing and illness OMG there is so many different things!! but you always keep a good attidude and tell us something funny with your witty way. so one minute we are oh no poor connie then the next minute we are laughing our butts off. I love your stories so much.
One of my favorites was the time you had just gottne home from a hospital stay and had to jump for the floor cause of the FBI bashing through your door!
You could write a book. I'd buy it.
I've started knitting a beautiful afgan that are your colors!
