Any one have a date of March 11th? I just got my new date yesterday, I was originally scheduled for Sept 21st, 2004 but I had a knee replacement in June and developed a pulmonary embolism. My bypass had to be rescheduled until I stopped taking coumadin. Now I am all set, insurance approval received, just need to do pre-op. Now the nerves are kicking in but I feel it's meant to be this time, 11 is my lucky number! MY husband, grandson, niece and I all are born on the 11th of different months!

Congratulations Patricia! I bet you are really ready for your surgery. I am not March 11 but I'm March 1 so I am really getting the nervous feelings now. Good Luck. Crystal

PATRICIA - I HAD SURGERY ON MARCH 11 OF LAST YEAR. I STARTED OUT AT 25 POUNDS AND AM NOW AT 144 POUNDS. HAVE LOST 108 POUNDS SO FAR. IT IS A WONDERFUL JOURNEY. I WAS A DIABETIC AND ON MEDS. NOW MY SUGAR LEVELS ARE NORMAL AND I TAKE NO MEDS. I WILL BE ABLE TO REMEMBER YOUR SURGERY DATE BECAUSE IT IS MY DATE....I WILL BE PRAYING FOR YOU THAT YOU HAVE AN UNEVENTFUL SURGERY AND A SPEEDY RECOVERY. WELCOME TO THE JOURNEY OF A LIFETIME!!!

Hi Patricia! I am an 11ther too! (well, my doc said it MAY end up as the 12th or 15th, depending on the surgeon that will accompany him...) I am on coumadin now, for a stroke I had in 98 (at 24 years old!) I have been given the a-ok by everyone though, whew! I will have to take lovinox before and after surgery (the shots, no fun, but well worth it!) I am at the point of being a little nervous, but I have GREAT trust in my surgeon, he is wonderful and has been very thorough for my protection. I have spent the last couple of weeks trying to 'plan my bag' for the hospital, like I did when I had my babies...I swear I have gone through so many bags trying to find the best one, that my husband thinks I'm certifiable! So far I have toothbrush/paste, hair brush, trial size shampoo, a razor, probably 6 different books, writing pad and pen/pencils, deodorant, set of loose fitting clothes, a little hand-held radio with earphones, slippers, chapstick, pillow, my special fluffy blanket, camera, lotion, address book, and a pic of my family. I wonder constantly if I am missing something still...For home, I have multivitamins, calcium, muscle milk and nectar powders for protein. Ok, I think that's it, I hope this list of crap helps you, and if you think of anything I'm missing, please let me know! Also, I have been using my handweights like crazy trying to tone up as much as I can till then, plus, I think it will help me stay on track afterwards...:D Here's hoping we both have smooth, picture perfect surgeries and recoveries, good luck to us both!
