Topic: RE: burping and hiccups?
My surgeon explained it this way... When we moved around your insides, it involves touching/moving the diaphragm and irritating the diaphragm causes hiccups. The burping is probably from swallowing too much air when drinking, take smaller sips. I had hiccups for 6 days postop, but then it went away. I still get burping but usually only when I don't drink properly. Kat

Topic: RE: How did the first month go
Hi. I still get hungry too, but it will get better when you can have solids and they sit in your pouch longer. Try maybe having some thicker soft foods like cottage cheese, low fat cheese, or canned tuna, chicken, etc which are also higher in protein. I find those stay in there longer. I am limited to 300 cals per day, so I can't do the shakes and stay within my guidelines too good, but I do better when I keep drinking between meals and do those thicker soft foods. 24 pounds is great so don't let it get you down! The average for each month is 20-30lbs in the first 3-4 months after surgery, so you are doing just fine! I am only down 15lbs from my surgery morning weight, but I know that I have to keep going! Topic: RE: WHAT DID YOU EAT TODAY?
Hi. Well, I had two ounces of 1% cottage cheese for breakfas****er, 2 peanut butter cracker sandwiches for a nibble, and a tiny part of a mexican dish my husband had for lunch (moist bits of chicken cut up and well-chewed with melted cheese, cream cheese and salsa). It's called the Poco Pollo Magnifico and it was delicious! This afternoon I'll probably go light with jus****er and a cheese stick or something for dinner. Sherry

HI Becky, It is hard not being able to hold this cute little guy. My daughter is 11 so she is really helping since she is out of school. I started soft foods and I am laughing because now all I want is JUICE...go figure. I hope you are not having a hard way to go. I went to the Dr. yesterday and I lost 11 lbs. Now at my size, I truly can not tell but as long as it is gonnnnnnnnne then good.
