Topic: RE: How's Everyone Doing Today???
Hi Diane,
I doing pretty well today. I am sluggish today too - don't know what it is. I couldn't even get myself out of bed at my usually 6am for my walk with my hubby. So I did it by myself on the treadmill later. I actually walked for 1 hour at 4 mph - more than I have done sicen surgery. I think that is why I am soooo tired right now. I put my scale away this morning too after yesterday! Ha!Ha! I'm gonna make sure not to get back on it for at least a week.
Sorry you're feelin so low today. I have read that mood swings are pretty common after surgery because we've lost our best friend - food. I warned my hubby about it last night. He was thrilled - not!! But he said we'll get through it if and when it happens. I hope your dissatisfaction with yourself passes soon. Try to get a walk in even if you have to throw on the rain coat and take the umbrella - even if it's just a short one. It might make you feel better to get out of the house.
Take Care,
Robin
Topic: RE: Stall at 1.5 weeks post op???????
I am so glad that I found your post. I stalled at the same time last week - the scale did not budge for 4 days - I do think I was in starvation mode because I was only eating about 300 calories a day. I have been working out around 2 hours per day for three years so I have lots of muscle and a pretty good heart. I am supposed to take in around 2600 calories at my activity level to maintain so 300 just wasn't cutting it. So when I added a piece or two of string cheese and a pudding to my diet - I started dropping almost a pound a day. I am also trying to eat something every three hours just to remind my body that I am not starving it - eventually it will realize that and go ahead and release the fat - well - that's what the experts are telling me anyway.
Good luck to you and keep in touch,
Chris

In a way it is kind of a blessing that you preferred plain old water in the beginning.
I'm with you. I was always a big "Water Girl" and I'm happy to see that I still am.
Just think...there's absolutely no artificial anything in it.(Well this month anyway.)
My friend could never stand water and lived on Crystal Lite...so go figure.
I understand that you might want a change. If it's not too much trouble, why don't you fill up your empty water bottles with your Peach Tea and keep that in the fridge. It will be easier to count. Just a thought.

Topic: How did the first month go
Hey everybody
I had surgery 03/02/07. Now that we are in our in our 2nd month how did it go?
myself, I stay hungry a lot. I am starting to try solids but I don't think I am eating enough because I just stay hungry all the time. Also, I am frustrated a little because I've only lost but 24lbs. I am like is it broken or what...
Let me here your stories

Hiya Diane!!
I'm doing good. On my way to buy some bottled water (see my blurb post
)
I'm just trying to relax a bit, and keep my newfound energy from writing too many "Honey DO" list items that my family will hate me for

I don't know how you guys are doing with it, but I personally found I didn't LIKE or want anything in my water for the first 2 weeks postop... I actually COULD NOT drink a bottle of tea that I had mixed (the individual packets for a bottle of water), despite trying for 3 days... I wanted to "use it up" but then every time I sipped from it, I just couldn't make myself drink more....
I inevitably would put it down and go get another bottle of water. I spent that 2 weeks at my mom's house so I used bottle water... here at home I have filtered water through the fridge (so it's cold already) and so I don't do bottles...
NOW I'm enjoying my Peach Tea, (pitcher in the fridge) and realize that I'm not keeping track of my water as well as I should, just filling a glass partially when I want some. So I guess it's back to buying bottles, just so I can measure right.

Everything is fine over here. I really can't complain about anything except the rainy weather. That squashes the walk I was going to take with my dog. (Should I pretend that I'm sad?)
I'm just going with the flow and doing what I need to do on my eating regimen.
I learned my lesson yesterday and will not be back on that scale until my 1month checkup. I'll be darned if I'm going to let that thing dictate my day!
I am not very happy with myself because there are a million and one things I could be doing right now, but I am just not motivated. I feel very tired today. I really don't know why.
I can only blame it on the surgery for just so long...ya know what I mean? Hey - I'm trying.
Anyhow, I'll talk to you all later.

Your post was perfect timing for me after my post yesterday! Thanks so much for explaining a number of things. Your writing is so clear and concise - very nice! Sorry you're suffering through a stall at the moment also. Good luck on achieving your first goal! Thanks for such a timely and informative post!

Hi Kat,
I've been at a stall for 6 days now. I'm in my 3rd week. Ever since I started on real food, the scales haven't moved. I'm keeping track of my food on Fitday. I am amazed at how much I'm eating and staying within my calories. Trying to get 80 gms of protein in is a chore since I don't have an appetite but I am so grateful for this surgery. I know it'll come off eventually!
Thanks for the explanation!
