I can so relate to what you went through -- I had the same thing! I was even using the little breathing machine that they gave me, several times an hour every hour, but it didn't make a difference. Recovering from all the additional complications has thrown me for a loop. I feel like it has taken me a long time to bounce back from surgery (I'm nearly a month out). The surgery itself was a breeze, it was all the other stuff that has been difficult. Glad to hear you're doing well! Tess

Rita did you see my coffee recipie? You can also use 4 whole frozen strawberries, 1/4 c water, 2 scoops protein, and 1/2 banana to make an excellent strawberry banana protein shake in the Magic Bullet. So many great recipies... GNC Pro Performance even has a Chocolate Caramel flavor.

Topic: 6 Years out and feeling GREAT!!!!!
I just wanted to share with everyone, I am 6 years out and life is so, so wonderful. I started at 400 lbs. Life is so good in this new healthy body. There is nothing I can't do. I am 46 years old and I feel like I am 25. If you are just starting out or if you have been on your journey for a while and have not reached your weight loss goal.....do not give up!!! You can do it!!!! Just stay compliant, listen to your surgeon and exercise. IT IS SO WORTH IT!!!!!! I wish you only the best!

Topic: Protein Shake Discovery
Okay so does anyone else out there like mint shakes? WELL...I just thought of something (and maybe someone else out there has already discovered this BUT I just discovered it for myself and I couldn't be happier) I am using this vanilla protein shake that I could BARELY get down. BLECH! So today I went to go put it in the blender with some ice to see if that would make it a little better and it dawned on me that I had these candy oils from when I made christmas rock candy this winter with my son. We had only used the cinnamon kind and I have cherry, creme de ment, and peppermint left. SO i immediatley got them out of the cubbard to check the ingredients to make sure they do not have sugar. And guess what-NADA!! Woohoo!!! So I knew they were pretty powerful so I put the water in the blender, then the I put one little bitty drop of the creme de ment oil in it then the ice and the powder...blended it up and at this moment I am enjoying sipping on my new creme de menth/vanilla protein shake...mmm..mmm good!!! Just thought I would pass this along to those who might be struggling with getting in their protein. With a minty grin, Rita

Rita! Wow! I'm glad that you are home and doing better - that is a lot to go through in addition to the surgery. I hope that you get back on your feet soon! Amie

Everything will be fine. To tell you the truth I ended up wearing nothing from my bag. I had bought 2 nightgowns and they preferred me not to wera them. The hospital gave me warm booty slippers, so I didn't use my new ones. I did bring chapstick,a pocket mirror & a comb. They provided toohbrush & paste. I actually went home with the jogging suit that I came in with since I only wore it for 10 minutes on arrival day. They did not even want me to wear my bathrobe because the IV's would not go up the sleeve. Everyone else on the floor dressed that way so I ended up not really caring. You MIGHT have to bring your CPap machine if you use one...I did...and ended up not even using that! Take Care~~~ Diane
