Topic: RE: Surgery Date set for 03-19-07...
Hi Sue!! what a great story!!!! You day is almost here and you have waited so long!!! what is another few days. Since you do stay at home I would suggest doing something to get your mind of it. Go to the mall and people watch. Call all your friends. Clean house! Do all the laundry. Browse the internet. Call a friend who is busy a lot and ask her if you could help her clean HER house (i'm sure she would be happy happy happy!!)
If I didn't have to work I would HAVE to find something to keep my mind off of it because it is ALL i think about and I have a very time consuming job!
I have a week and two days till my surgery and my son is gone for the week so I have more time this week to think. I have just forced to think of other things and not the actually surgery.
I have also taken out a couple of sheets of paper and put my personal goals and my specific monthly weightloss goals. I have created a chart for my measurements adn as soon as I get one of those measuring tape things from the fabric store or walmart I'm gonna take my measurements!!
There is lots to do to keep your mind off the JITTERS and focus on how your life will be after! I have decided that if I am going to invest in the seriousness of surgery then I will also invest in a Gym membership so I have gone from gym to gym (thankful I have put this into my job) and search for the best value for the price! (still looking and don't have to make up my mind until after the surgery.
I hope these ideas help. I have been very nervous too so I understand. You can also pray and read the bible if that is something you do. This helps me TREMENDOUSLY!!!
Talk to you on the losing side!!
with a smile,
Rita

Topic: Proti Max Shakes
Hi everyone, I have my 1st doctor appt in a 10 days for the Lap Band so I've been reading up on what we can have which seems to be liquid shakes for 6 weeks w/very little sugar and lots of protein. I was on an optifast program which didn't work but they had the best high protein no sugar shakes it was just vanilla but I could drink them all day unlike most of the others shakes I've tried. Anyway has anyone seen them at the surgery places each carton is only 8 oz and brownish silver looking. The optifast dr office sold them for 3.00 each 18.00 a 6 pack and they are only 8 oz each. If anyone knows where to get them please email me.

Don't give up sue, try searching for "position statements" or "coverage issues" or other policy definitions online through BC/BS. Get the WRITTEN policy before you give up.... some people (from personal bias) are not going to be as helpful as others. SOOOO get it in writing

Topic: RE: Cardiologist Stress Test
Hi there:
Today's my first day of the liquid diet. My hubby had the gastric bypass done and he was on it for 2 weeks before surgery. I only have to be on it for a week, plus he had to have one meal a day whereas I don't get any meals. I guess it depends on the person. I took a stress echocardiogram. My primary dr. wanted me to take it and it was paid for by the insurance. Good luck!!!
Topic: RE: I HAVE A DATE, I HAVE A DATE! MARCH 5! PLEASE KEEP ME IN YAS PRAYERS!
Thanks for asking. Everything went great. I was not a bit nervous, just very excited!! The first 48 hours were tough but nothing I couldn't handle. It's amazing how each day you feel so much better than the day before. I still have a bit of discomfort at the port area but I'm sure in time that will go away. It's so wonderful having so many thoughtful people on your side!! THANKS! I hope all is well.
