Thanks so much for the confidence. My husband's mother is very sick in the hospital in ICU so I am a little anxious that I AM not there for him and afraid that he isnt going to be there for me either. Together we will get through this, and I must admit that I am going to rely heavily on the support of this wonderful message board.

Could anyone please tell me how many people have had hernias repaired during surgery?
There were 4 of us from my job that had the surgery and 2 of us had hernia repairs
I'm just wondering if this is a common find! Could you let me know?

I have talked to a lot of people over the course of the past week and each person's pre-diet is different. Amazing! Wanda I think you are the luckiest one so far. Most everyone is doing liquid something or other.
Hope you don't gain 30 either...this darn FAT is so hard to get rid of!! I've done it so many times that this is the final time...That is why I am having the surgery! I'm tired of losing and then gaining...now diabetes and high blood pressure has caught up with me. I am tired of fighting the battle. It's time to WIN!

I had surgery 3/6/2007. less than a week ago. I didn't realize until now I was not a normal recovery. My liver had attached to my stomach (no spleen to keep the 2 apart) and they made an additional 2 1/2 in*****ision. I assume it was for that reason, post-op appt is Thursday.
Anyways, be sure to get the fluids. I became severely dehydrated needing an extra day in the hospital. Other people I know who have had lap bands say it was easy and a quick recovery. I just can't stress the fuids enough though.

Hey March 20th-ers,
I feel for you all having to do the liquid diets. I don't have any diet restrictions pre-op.
I almost wish I did. I wanted to try to get at least ten pounds off before, but I keep having last meals. lol Now I just hoping not to gain.
Doc said as long as I don't gain 30 he will be happy.
Good luck with the pre-op diet.
