Topic: RE: CELEBRATING
Good for you! That is definitely a WOW MOMENT! I am 6 months out at the end of Sept. down 124 lbs. that is so great. I made it a point to tell my surgeon that I am just not hungry ever, he said that's o.k. and get in the proteins and vitamins you will be fine. Ino longer feel guilty about not not eating. It is strange on one side we have a nutritionist telling us we must eat, and a surgeon telling us it is o.k. not to eat. I am sticking with my surgeon, I feel much better not eating alot. I just eat finger foods and soup, not counting calories either, just pushing the liquids and proteins. Congrats to you and good luck...Kathy V.

Topic: RE: Food Help Needed
I find that I cannot eat leftovers, because of the change in consistency in the food with the temperature change it makes the food hard, and hard to swallow. Even at 6 months out I try to stick to foods with a soft consistency. So I do not eat leftovers. I think that after the surgery we are all like we are living alone, nobody really can understand your new eating habits, even when they live with you. I would try different foods all the time. I personally still cannot do salmon, it is too rough of a fish. I cannot eat chicken breast either unless its fromt he deli and sliced very thin. Just keep experimenting and keep up the good work. Hi Amie, I walk with wrist weights. I go everyday to the track and am up to 5 miles!! I do it very briskly and can be done in 1 hour. Since I go first thing in the AM (after DS is on the bus), I have no excuse to skip and it energizes me for hours!! I know it is helping...one can see the results. Good Luck, Lora

Tomorrow is my 6 month surgiversary!! Boy did time fly!! I have lost 100+ pounds, (not sure of exact amt. because I only weigh in at the Doctors' offices), and went from a 20-something in clothes to 14/12 !! I will take it. And I have to go to get my wedding rings resized because they fall off...oops. I now walk 5 miles everyday and feel better than ever. Now if only the hair loss can become a hair gain!!! Continued success to all of you!!!!!!! Hugs, Lora

Topic: RE: THINNING HAIR?
I have long, curly hair too. I cut off a few inches when it started to get thin, because it doesnt' knot up so severely when I wa**** if it is a little shorter. I don't have to tug on it so much to brush out the knots, if there are fewer knots. The good news is that the hair loss is slowing down about 3 months after it started. Hang in there. I promise you won't end up bald!!

Aren't the clearance racks too much fun this time of year!!! I have been bouncing up and down on 2 pounds for awhile now, too. I am comforted that I am not the only one. We should have 6 more months of "honeymoon period", though, right???? Oh, well. I guess I have decided to accept it if 95 pounds is gonna be my total weight loss, if that is how it's gonna be, I guess. WendyB

Topic: RE: 4 MONTHS OUT DOWN 100 POUNDS
Hey ya Hidy, I contribute my rapid and substantial weight loss to not eating......I do not measure anything, I never throw up..You have to know your limits and keep changing up your diet. I eat pizza, 2 or 3 bites. everything I eat is bite size, no measuring, I even tolerate sugar o.k. I think you really have to be in tune with your body and everything should be really small portions. Over eating is not good at all. I have a hard time drinking the protein shakes and water. Every morning I force down a shake, sometimes I only have 1 shake a day sometimes I don't even have one. Nobody goes through this perfect o.k. My surgeon told me that it is o.k. not to eat if you do not have an appetite, just make sure you are getting your protein in, after 1 year the weight loss stops, so i am trying to lose as much as i can now. I am taking biotin for hair loss...It is a great vitamin and I suggest you add that to your vitamin everday. I don't want to give medical advice, because I am not a doctor, but I do not eat if I am not hungry. Stay away from the carbs and you will see it melt off quicker. Good luck to you Hidy....Kathy
