I've never heard of Perdue Perfect Portions - where do you get it? Great ideas, thank you!

I cook "normal" meals for my family and then prepare something for myself that my 2 year old normally eats half of! I do eat a bit of skinless sausage that I cook in a skillet on the stovetop..but I fill it about halfway with water and let the sausage boil all the grease out. Then I drain and brown the sausage a bit. I also eat a bit of baked potato or instant potatoes with it. Tastes great and it's a meal we can all eat. There are also microwaveable roasts that taste great, good on protein, and very soft. You can cook up a big meal of a type that you like and individually freeze it into portions you can eat and it'll stay forever and cook back up in minutes in the microwave. If you just leave it in the fridge...well I don't like leftovers more than a day old...I am paranoid like that! I eat alot of lunchmeats and cheeses mostly. I also eat alot of crackers but I shouldn't. They taste good and make my tummy feel better...but they don't do much for ya nutrition wise. I need to start eating tuna fish more...but I had been burnt out. I don't like the fishes much, chicken and steaks sticks in my tummy. Have you tried eating deviled eggs...yummy. I can't eat the outer white part...something else that sticks in my tummy...but I eat the yolk part and it tastes wonderful. It's great to get some of these ideas out there...but the hard part is what is gonna work for you and taste good. Good luck.

I feel great since surgery! Off ALL diabetes, cholesterol and anxiety meds. and only taking vitamins now. I am 5'10.5 Highest weight was 336. Day home from hospital 300. Today 226. BMI was 47.5 now 32.1! I can eat all meats and haven't thrown up yet. Ice cream makes me feel icky if I eat more than 4 bites. I can have sweets in small portions and only do so occasionally. I aim for 70 grams of protein a day and get a minimum of 60. I really do eat to live now and not live to eat.

Topic: RE: THINNING HAIR?
I am a hairdresser and I can honestly say that the longer thinner hair is the thinner it looks. It is logical to think the longer then hair the thicker it will look, but it just isn't so. As long as you don't get it thinned out or "cropped" really short it will look much thicker and not be as tramatic when you see it falling out. Also, when it starts growing in those 1/2 inch long hairs will blend into 3 or 4 inch long hair a lot better than if you hair is 12 inches long. It will be a fun new look with your new body. ...And don't ask men-they will never say anything but long! Nioxin shampoo will NOT make it thicker but it fluffs your hair and makes it look thicker too. I got myself a giant bottle of it to get me through this. Slightly darker hair (not black) looks thicker and healthier too. Make sure you use a thickening styling product too! Change is GOOD! Have fun. Donna

I love Perdue Perfect Portions chicken. They have a few flavors, one is plain. They are individually wrapped so you can make done at a time. Perdue Shortcuts chicken or turkey is precooked and in a resealable plastic bag it is GREAT thrown on top of a salad. I also take a pound or pound and a half of chicken and marinate it then cook it on the grill and freeze it in 3 ounce portions in Ziplocs and take it out the morning before I need it. Also, if you can eat steak take some mustard and rub it all over both sides and then sprinkle it with a fair amount of salt and cover the mustard with an even layer of tea leaves from a tea bag then grill. It sound weird, but it is so incredibly good you won't believe it! Have fun!

Topic: RE: Stall??
I am having a stall (lose and gain same 2 pounds cycle) too and my surgery was 3/26. My nutritionist said it's "normal" for the loss to slow down now. I find if I increase my calories a little I start to lose again. I was eating about 800 calories and couldn't lose so I went up to 1000. It worked, now I may try for 1100 for a few days and see what happens. I track everything I eat at fit day. Also, average out how much weight you have lost since surgery by how many weeks it's been-I guarantee it will be more per week than you have lost on past "diets" without feeling hungry. Be proud of what you have accomplished and know it's going to come off! Good luck!

Topic: RE: Am I losing too slow?
I don't know if you'll ever read this since you posted it in July but I wanted to say thank you for posting this question. I'm nearly 6-months out and I've only lost 61 lbs. I know that's a great accomplishment but man when I read some of the other post from people 6-months out it just makes me feel bad. 6-months out and down 85 lbs or 100 lbs and I'm just like what the heck am I doing wrong. I'm able to eat more so maybe I'm eating too much, too many soft foods, not enough exercise, not enough protein, maybe my stomach has grown to big anything to explain why I haven't reached the 100 lbs mark in 6-months. Reading your question and the responses made me realize my body is going at it's own pace and I have to respect it and pu**** but don't hate it. That's what got me in the position I'm in today. So thank you for voicing the question that was screaming in my head and getting responses I needed to hear. Your not alone, we slow losers have to stick together.

Carolyn, So great to hear your WOW moment... The better part... it is only the beginning for you!!! The great part for me is that people who meet me for the first time never knew my before, and just get to know me as "after." Take care! --Dave 350/222/205
