Topic: RE: Hair Loss
My hair is falling out too. Everytime I take a shower or brush my hair it's everywhere. So far I haven't noticed a huge amount in the way my hair looks...but I can tell it will eventually. From what I have heard from my doctors and support group...there isn't anything you can do about your hair falling out. Some people say there are other vitamins or shampoos to use and that it worked for them...but I think they were just lucky to not have alot of hair fall out. Some people lose alot some don't lose hardly any. I don't think it hurts to try the different remedies though...some people just like to feel like they are doing something about it. One thing I have heard alot is that dying your hair a darker color will fluff it up and make it healtheir. My grey is creeping out so I'm gonna do that anyway. While I've got the hair I don't want it grey! I just try and think about how great I feel and look in my body and just toss my hair into a pony tail. Good luck!

Hello fellow March-ers!
Congrats to everyone for their losses!! Feels great doesn't it!! It shouldn't be about the number on the scale for those who feel discouraged. Remember losing is losing and it is so much better than gaining (which is something we are all so used to).
I was at my PCP's office on Monday, and their scale showed my total lbs. lost as 86 pounds...yippee!! I never weigh at home, only at surgeon's or PCP's ofc. I include my pre-op loss too, even though it was just 17 pounds---but hey...I lost it!!!
My hair is starting to fall out too. I always lose hair because it is thick. However, it is coming out more and more. I have been taking 1000 mcg of Biotin since 6 weeks out. My protein is probably not as good as it could be in terms of consistency on a daily basis, but it is okay. My labs at 3 month post-op were 'perfect' according to doc.
Well-continued luck to all!! Keep up the good work!!
Hugs,
Lora
P.S.-By the way...I exercise by walking 3 miles everyday and wear wrist weights. I have only missed 3 days in 6 weeks!! Those were due to illness.

Way to go!! Feels great!!! My waist is now down 14 inches (52 in to 38 in I just bought last weekend), and just had a Dr.'s appointment where he told me I've lost 100 lbs. (I count since my highest weight of 350, where as he counts from my first visit to his office) I'm now at 232, and feeling great.. I've gotten off of the exercise train the past few weeks, and need to seriously ramp up!!!

That is totally awesome... you most definitely deserve a round of applause for such a great accomplishment!
If you don't mind, I'd sure like to ask you for some advice.
I noticed that we have the same surgery date of 3/26/07 and I've only lost 54 lbs as of yesterday. I weighed 266 lbs the day of surgery, and I sure thought I would have lost more weight by now. I talked to my surgeon yesterday and he said that I was doing great and that I need to keep doing what I'm doing and that as long as I'm still losing I shouldn't worry. But I can't help but worry that I'll never reach my goal weight of 165 lbs at this rate. I would just like to know what kinds of food you've been eating and how much excercise have you done to lose so much so quickly? Did you count calories and measure your food portions? Did you keep track of protein, carbs, sugars, etc? Any advice you can give would surely be appreciated!

Topic: RE: Time for a roll call folks
Sorry to be late to the roll call, guys. I was busy out buying new clothes. Thank GOD for Steve and Barry's.
Anyway, I am now down just over 100 pounds since surgery, and over 150 from my highest. I'm wearing XL shirts now and my 34's that I just bought a week and a half ago are starting to get loose.
My doctor smiles now when he walks into the room. He used to have this look of disappointment whenever he saw me. We are beginning to discuss options for a tummy tuck. I'm wanting to get down to 180 first, so maybe the beginning of next year.
My weight loss is faster now than in the beginning and is steadily increasing, but I expect that to slow down as I get closer to my ideal weight. I get a lot of "attention" at work now, something I was never used to in the past. When people call me hot or sexy, I believe it now. I can see that they're really being sincere.
I also know of about two others at my company (of only about 350) who are in the six month program now. Two others have received references to my surgeon from me. I'm proud to be the first ever with the company (founded 2000) to have had the surgery. They say I'm a case study. Pretty much everyone there knows what I had done, and I'm never afraid to discuss it.
I'm so proud of us all. Let's all keep up the good work.
