Topic: RE: Eating Out
I've been enjoying healthy sandwiches or soups when I eat out. Wendy's chilli sits well with me, and it is an occasional treat. Lately, I've been a little more daring with choices as long as protein is the center of the meal. Sometimes it's a good experience, and sometimes its not. For me, eating is about learning what my body does or doesn't do well with. I understand everyone's different, and tolerates different things though. --Dave 350/248/205

i only get on a scale at the doctors office. i don't weigh here at all!! so i got weighed last week and it was the first time in 2 months. this way i don't know about the stalls and i never get bummed. i am a bit sorry about not measuring pre-op--so i just know that i am losing by my clothes! last weekend i bought a pair of jeans---with a button and a zipper---and a size 14!!! that's proof enough for me. and the lady at catherines told me i really shouldn't bother shopping there anymore cause size 14 is their smallest size--yahoo!! i have not had any new pictures taken of me since my wls--but i guess i should do it soon. so there you have how i track my progress--but the most valuable way to realize my progress is how i feel....awesome!! i walk 2.5 miles every morning and love it. and i am never out of breath!!!!!! yipee and yahoo for wls! lora

Interesting question. How do you track your progress. Do you rely on the scales, the tape measure, how your clothes fit, pictures?

Now with Lora and Dorean checking in I am officially the slowest loser. Ahhh, I don't mind. I am happy I am actually losing. I never thought it would work that well for me. You all are doing great. I read some where that a lot of doctors like you to be at the 35% loss ( of your excess weight) at 3 months. Most of you are half way there plus more. I have had 2 stalls so far. For almost 9 days I lost nothing. That was depressing. Gotta stay away from those scales don't I. Brenda

I have always been proud to be well endowed. I had dug up some old bras and thought I would keep them out just in case. I went to put one on the other day and thought this will never fit on my huge knockers. I couldn't believe the thing fit. They are disappearing pretty fast. I keep thinking if I have to buy them one at a time when I lose em I will buy me some new ones. Can you imagine a doctor doing surgery on one and next year another. Funny thought isn't it. Tummy. It is getting gigglie, and arms still move minutes after my arm is at a stand still. No short sleeves for me. The skin isn't as bad as the chub was though is it? Brenda

At my 3 month appt. Last week, I have lost 75 pounds. According to my surgeon, I should lose another 80 pounds. I told someone that today and they asked where it was going to come from (hee hee). But I would like to lose 70-80 more. I am feeling super duper great!!! I walk every morning around the track (about 2-2 1/2 miles). I am actually lovin' that. I do think it is helping to contract my stomach. My midriff is actually looking pretty good!My batwings...Now that is another story--but I am working on them with weights!! My legs are starting to shape up and the back fat is about gone! I am grateful!! My labs last week were great. I was really proud of myself, especially cholesterol--down about 60 points!!!! Wahoo!! I have never dumped, but the foamies got me for a while. I now know not to reheat anything, because that always did it to me and I must stay conscientious when I eat to help the speed and amount of eating. I wish all of my fellow marchers good luck and sending out big hugs to you!! Lora

I don't eat out much. But when I do, I ask for poached, baked or broiled tilapia or salmon. I tell them only in orange juice and lemon juice (no butter, etc or sauces). I get vegetable soup or a dry baked potato. I have had cooked veggies, with nothing on them and that's about it. I bring home more than I eat, but don't eat the leftovers anymore because they always give me the foamies! If there is salad--I give it away or bring home for DH. I haven't had salad yet. I have given up all sugar, white flour products (all bread, pasta, rice and noodles). And I gave up red meat. I don't order chicken, because it is one of those foods that I can't get down. I wish you luck!! Lora

so far the skin issues aren't bad. I know once the weight loss levels off I will consider a tummy tuck. I've had a gut for too many years and 2 C-section babies didn't help that either. I don't know about any other women in this group but I am losing my breasts - when things level off I may not have any left... I take that back - I might have one... so I might consider buying some boobs too! LOL! Or just invest in padded bras... Amie

I'm down 86 pounds as of today. It took me about three weeks to lose just one pound. But I'm eating more, and have not had any dizzy spells. I'm grateful for how much I have lost so far, so I'm not complaining. This has been my first stall or plateau or whatever you call it and it SUCKS. Other than that I feel pretty good. Keep up the great work Brenda, you will be at goal before you know it. I have 63 more lbs to goal (at least my surgeons goal) ..............Dorean
