The wound has no depth to it anymore the skin just has to heal over. The PA yesterday said it should start scabbing in a week or two. They took me off bedrest yesterday and upped my food intake to 5 oz per meal....yippeeee but that makes me too full so I am eating about 4 oz...
Now I just have to get my strength back after being in bed for so long. And I have to remember to do it slowly.....well I will try

Good grief Carolyn. You really have done wonderful. I remember seeing your womb. Is it all healed now. I actually typed this big long reply to you from you blog a while back and my fingers went so fast I hit the wrong button and poof the whole message was gone. I thought I would go back and do it later but I have not yet.

I have lost 74 lbs and I have 60 to go.
The only dumping I have experienced is when I ate ice cream from DQ - which was all my fault... I won't be doing that again!
Other than that, I'm doing great!

I was in middle of month and I have lost 73.8 lbs and I have 110 lbs left to go.
I had some incision complications but I have never (knock on wood) dumped. A couple of times I was uncomfortable from eating too fast but I guess sometimes you learn the hard way.
I hope everyone is doing great!

Topic: RE: Eating Out
Dr just let me off bedrest and I am anxious to eat out! I would go somewhere where I could get baked or grilled fish. Grilled Shrimp. I can have grilled porkchops(lean) and he has just added beef into my diet so I could always order a lean cut of steak.
Most restruants do have plain steamed veggies...and sweet potatos are in style now as well so choices are many!
Of course there would be a take home box to go along with this because it would last me 2-3 meals.....what a cheap date with DH!
I just can't wait....I hinted all day to DH but I ended up grilling pork chops and having seasoned Brocolli and Carrots with it.
Good but it is always better when someone else makes it

Well, folks, my surgery was at the end of the month. So we have now all made it to the 3 month mark. Can you believe it has been 3 months now. Lets hear how much you have lost and how much more you have to goal. How have you been feeling?
I started out at 223 and I am down to 175. I have lost 48 lbs. I have 52 more lbs to go.
I have had some dumping problems. It happens when I eat something I didn't know I shouldnt eat. Chicken and dumplings did it the other day.
Thanks in advance everyone

Alright Marchers...
When you eat out, what types of food do you choose?
I'm not allowed salads or carbs (other than from cooked veggies) yet, so eating out is kind of annoying and I'm looking for ideas.
Typically I go for chicken fajitas, minus the refried beans, rice, and tortillas or some other type of grilled chicken. I've also been known to eat the insides of a black bean or chicken burro. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm getting a little burned out on Mexican food!
So...lay it on me! What do ya eat when ya go out?

Hi Wendy...I wouldn't worry. How much did you weigh before WLS.
I was 295, so I wasn't a light weight, so I think I lost more at first.
I didn't lose any pre-op. I was hardly eating much up till about 2 weeks
ago. I had gotten so dizzy in the evening and felt like I was going to
pass out. I realized I only had two protein shakes all day. I felt maybe
I wasn't getting enough calories, so I have been working on that.
I feel I can eat alot more variety now and in a way that scares me.
Sometimes I wanna eat all day. I don't exercise, only walk about a
mile everynight. I'm so bad about that. I also have an over active
thyroid, my DR wants to keep it elevated a little due to my thyroid
cancer I had 3 yrs. ago. I really think that makes a differance also.
But let me say lately I have slowed down. I think I am going
through my first plateau. It has been weeks since I have lost a single
pound. So I think in the end everyone averages about the same.
Funny how I was worried I was losing to fast, now I'm worrying about
not losing anymore. Good luck to you. Also I was told when you
start exercising, you either gain or don't lose anything because
your muscles are drawing in water. So, maybe here soon you
will start seeing bigger results.....Dorean
