Well, I knew to expect it, but it is really coming out good now. Pretty gross!! Clumps in the shower, strands on my shirts every 3 minutes, and 5-6 strands when I run my hands through my hair...yuck!! Its a good think I have lots of hair, but how funny will I look when it starts to grow back and I have all these short pieces mixed in with my long hair!

Hey everyone,
I had my surgery on March 22, 07. I have lost a total of 34.4 pounds as of this morning. I am just wondering if this is normal. Am I going slow, fast, just right? How is everyone else doing? I feel much better, and I know that I have never in my life lost this much weight in a short time, but it just seems like it is coming off slower than I thought it would. I dont know maybe I am just whining, but it seems wierd to me. Thanks for listening.

That is awesome Lori!!!! Way to go!!! I bet that feels so exciting! I remember when I lost weight once in highschool and I was walking down the street with my hands in my pockets of my jeans and I felt something sticking out and I stopped because I didn't realize it was my HIPS! It was an awesome feeling so I am sure you are so proud of yourself right now and you should be!!!
Congrats!

Well I've been taking tablets - a new course of antibios to clear up my wounds, my anti dep and something else, and nothing seems to be bothering my tum. Iin fact, nothing at all seems to bother it, which in itself is a bit of a worry. I'm only two weeks out and I can take basically anything that I chew very well. I'm trying not to, and just stick to the liquid diet but yesterday had toast and avocado pear, and a quarter of a mac cheese burger - which I won't be doing again in a hurry.
Topic: stricture fixed...whew.
HI,
just an update. I went to Barix yesterday , and Dr Kam saw me at 8:30, he decided to skip the xray, and he said based on my symptoms- ( not being able to keep anything other than liquids down and pain in my chest when eating)--that I probably have a stricture. He said he would do an endoscopy ( put a scope down my throat and dialte the opening that had closed ) and open it up with a balloon to solve the issue. He promised to do the procedure when he could fit it in ..he was so kind and caring.
ANYWAY, at 130 they sent me up to pre op to get an IV as I was severely dehydrated. By 430 I went in and had the stricture dialated and was on the road home by 6 pm, and home by 1 am, and at work today...wow. ( he even gave me color pictures of the whole procedure)
lets hope lunch stays in the pouch today...smile

Topic: RE: Protein Shots 42 G protein in 3 oz.
Hi Susan-
I have a lot of 100% whey protein at home. I bought mine at GNC and unjury is also a good source. Plus, ispoures have 100% whey. The difference in the shots (according to my NUT) is that this isn't the best form of protein. They use a sub-standard protein form in the bullets as opposed to the purest form (100% whey). She said that if I wanted to try them on a limited basis after 8 months, that would be fine. But, for now, it's critical that my body gets the purest form for absorption and healing.
This is just her medical opinion. I'm sure each surgeon and nutritionist do things a little differently.
Good luck!

after 1 month out, capsules are ok by most surgeons (remember to ask yours)... it's the delayed or time release COATED stuff that isn't going to dissolve well for us.

Congrats! It's great that you are seeing positive results so soon. Just imagine the ones yet to come.
