Aren't they great? I've been using these exclusively since my surgery. I like to pour it in a wine glass and drop a few ice cubes in it and sip it like I'm having a glass of wine. I have found these to be much easier to tolerate than the powders. It has no chalky texture at all - like you said it is a little thick (almost like uncongealed jello), but the taste isn't bad. Besides it is only 3 ounces anyway - so it is gone in a flash! I do the 25g protein ones because someone told me that we couldn't absorb more than 30g of protein at once. Robin

Topic: RE: has anyone noticed your loss yet?
I had surgery on March 6th and I have lost 48lbs. My starting weight was 286. The family that lives in my house has barely noticed a difference but friends and family who I don't see everyday have definitely noticed. I guess I expected the "wow" factor and it is just not there yet . The funny thing is that _I_ do not see a change. First off I realized my clothes must have been WAY too tight before surgery because I can still wear them, they are loose but they are still wearable. I look in the mirror and don't see a difference. It is very strange. I went shopping and picked up size 16's and 18's and couldn't figure out why they were fitting. I have taken measurements and must look smaller because of all the inches just don't see it myself. It some some physiological disorder, lol. I'm not a self-deprecating person so it really has me stumped. Anyone else notice they are having this problem? Naomi

Hi everyone!! I just wanted to tell you about a protein "shot" I have been taking for the past few days. It is called "New-Whey" Liquid Protein. They are in these 3 0z test tube looking things. I got mine and the Vitamin Shoppe. They were 12 for 29.99. They taste a little syrupy but better if you mix them with water or crystal lite. They also had some other powder drinks there that I am going to try that taste like lemonade and different flavors. Right now the new whey i am taking is fruit punch flavored and it taste better than the thick protein shakes...some days I drink it straight and others I mix it in with my drink. Just thought I'd let everyone know! Its a great way to get your protein in! Rita

Hey Sherry, I am sorry you are not feeling well. My doctor said the same thing. If I have any problems with food to go back to the liquid stage for a day or two. I hope this problem resolves it's self soon. If not, call the doctor. Feel better, Wanda

Hi Sherry, I'm so sorry to hear you're not feeling so hot My surgeon advised me to go on liquids for the rest of the day after throwing up. She said throwing up can irritate the pouch and giving it awhile to relax can help minimize further complications throughout the day. If you get to a point where you can't keep soft foods or liquids down, call your surgeon's office and let someone know. You shouldn't have to live with that kind if discomfort on a daily basis! Plus, you need to make sure you don't get dehydrated or malnourished. Good luck and keep us posted! Nicole

OK. I had no issues at all until about two weeks, and I have had my worst day so far today. I've been having trouble with food getting "stuck" in my throat and with not tolerating certain foods and throwing up as a result of both issues. And now I have something sitting like a rock in my pouch, and I cannot eat or drink anything! I feel like total pooooo! My head and pouch are so uncomfortable right now that I can't get comfortable to try and sleep. I am so tempted to go back on the clear liquids - at least then I wasn't sick and was still losing weight. All I have lost in the last week is about 2 lbs. Ugh! Will this ever get better? Anyone else hitting a wall! Sherry

Hi Jackie, It's Proti-zyme Extra Strength - Dutch Chocolate. (The French vanilla is not good) I mix it with milk (I use Lactaid because I'm lactose intolerant) in a blender. I also sometimes put smoothie tofu and that bumps the protein up to 44 grams for 12 oz which can take me 1 1/2 hours to drink -- believe me I'm full afterward. It has only 82 calories and it's absorbs in the jejumum so you absorb the protein better (according to the manufactures label)/ It's the best tasting protein powder I have tried and I have tried ALOT. Isopure drinks aren't bad either -- I like the grape - taste like a flat grape soda. Hope that helps and that you find a protein powder you like. --Lori

Hello my name is Becky and I am a scale o holic!!! I so have to get over that but I have been addicted for 30 years! It's terrible. I think back and I am down 4 1/2 pounds from last week, but I am already panicking about THIS week. I had set a goal of 2 pounds a week, so I am doing okay and several people have told me that they see the loss already.. I might have to have my daughter hide the scale from me except for once a week. thanks everyone for your support, many of you being my PolyCysters! Becky 240/224/130
