Topic: RE: How much weight have you lost?
Same as you! Started at about 281 and hovering around 200. Been slow the last few weeks since I started to try to get my period under control with some high doses birth control using oral contraceptives and the patch at the same time. Also have not been able to work out as much as I would like since I have not been feeling well. Have the flu right now.

My unofficial weight loss sincer surgery is 81 pounds. I won't know my official weight loss until I go for my post-op appointment tomorrow. I was just wondering how well everyone else has done. I get my inspiration from your stories. Thanks! Brenda

Topic: RE: Who had a WOW moment(s) this week?
My wow moment came Saturday when my 7 year old son came up and hugged me and told me "Wow mommy I can reach all the way around you now." He was so excited that he got his 10 year old brother to try to reach all the way around me too! That was the best!!! My boys have been the greatest guys ever through all of this! Teresa

Good Morning Everyone, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and has a blessed Thanksgiving. So, who had a wow moment or wow moments this week? Come on and share them with us, pre-op, post-o*****n-op. We love to hear everyone's moment so we can encourage you and share your victory with you. My WOW moment this week was picking my little brother up at the airport. He's a pilot and as I was waiting for him I saw him come out of the airport and look around. I had to jump up and down and wave and say over here. He looked at me and said WOW Gina I didn't recognize you. That was priceless! Have a safe Holiday and a great week. Gina 3 lbs away from the Century Club and refusing to get on the scale until Dec. 1 when I go to the Dr.

We all get frustrated with our loss, it is just the way we humans are I have lost 132 lbs, but since I still have between 53 and 68 lbs to go, I feel like I have been losing waaaaaay too slow. The thing that helps me feel better when I see "lightweights" closer to their goal than I am sooner is to "do the math." We all do lose at a different rate, but the percentages -- the "math" -- is still pretty close. Here's my math -- I started out at 325 (day of surgery -- I don't count my 6 lbs pre-op loss), which is approximately 185 lbs over my PS goal weight of 140 -- so I need to lose a total of 185 lbs before I try to have PS -- I have lost 132 lbs of that 185 -- 132/185 is 71% loss of the total excess weight. Now, here's the cool part -- we are considered a success if we lose between 65 -70% of our excess weight. That makes me a success, even if I never lose another lb -- but I still plan on losing the rest! Julia -- doing your math -- you have lost approx 100 of the 150 you want to lose -- that's 66% -- you qualify as a success already!! Don't get so caught up in the numbers that you forget what is important -- surely you already feel better. I bet at least some of your health problems are gone and heaven knows if you have lost 100 lbs, you LOOK better too! It will happen as long as you stick to the rules of the pouch -- for once in your life, YOU can be in control -- you have the tool. We are all here to support each other, if you have a bad day -- suck it up and move on -- learn from it. And plateaus? They happen...unfortunately, they happen more than sh*t sometimes post-op I stall every 2 weeks or so, and will not lose for 2-3 weeks at a time, but I know this is what happens with me, and it just reminds me to make sure I eat protein forward and drink all my water, take my vitamins, etc. I didn't put myself through major surgery to fail, and neither did you guys -- WE WILL DO THIS! :D --joanna 325/193/125(someday, I hope!)

Ok, now I am getting ill. I started at 250, and am just barely under 200......... (sobbing loudly--- I want to lose 100 pounds too!) But seriously, you are doing really great. I have had a bunch of plateaus since surgery.......... I now get excited when I lose a pound. (On the main board someone was saying they had only lost forty something pounds in 7 weeks, and I am thinking .............at that point I think I had just lost 20 pounds...) But you guys are all passing me............. but that is great, you can all send me your clothes and I will be a clothes horse...........LOL!! natalie Congratulations by the way, you must be really proud. I think it is great that you have lost so much! natalie
