You get you and you r hubbys life settled and in a routine first then think of bABIES.. BESIDES BEING THINNER NOW YOU STILL HAVE MORE LIFE TO ENJOY BEFORE YOU HAVE TO STAY HOME AND WIPE NOSES!!!

First off, thanks for your kind words. It means a lot.
I don't have a "saggy" tummy, but I do have some flub (remnance of a belly apron) around my pelvic area. It's easy to hide and push around (it's mostly skin), and so I'm not in a big frenzie to chop it off.... yet. I'm going to wait until I pop out a couple of ankle biters, before I even consider wanting to have plastics done in that area. That way I'll have a chance to get some use out of the stretched skin again before I do away with it. Even so, I'm not completely convinced I really want to have a tummy tuck done. I may sing a different tune after I'm done in the baby department.
I'll be 21 in December, so my age may be giving me an advantage as far as the skin stretching goes. I still don't like to look at myself naked, I do have some drooping skin in places... but none of it is anything that I'm bothered by so much that I want to have plastics done.
The only surgery I'm considering getting in the near future is a boob job, and once again, I don't think I want to do it until after I have some babies. But, we'll see.

Hi Katie,
I browse through different surgery month forums every now & then and came acrss this one. I just wanted to say that you are doing an amazing job. You are great inspiration.....I notice your tummy isn't all saggy. You must be one of the lucky ones that doesn't need a TT. Do you mind if I ask how old you are....I think that plays a big role. Thats my only concern is how much PS is gonna be needed after. Congrats on your wedding too!!!

Oh my God... I'm in the same boat... (with the baby fever thing, anyway). I don't know about my husband, I have talked with him yet... but I have been thinking about it intensely.
I'm almost 7 months out. My mom is a midwife, and she sees TONS of WLS patients come through pregnant all the time. She tells me all the time about what goes on in their situations. Usually they do just fine. Most of the times, they're over the 1 year waiting time period. There are a lot of times when they have to moniter the baby closely, because they're afraid the mother isn't getting enough nutrition. It's a risky situation, especially being so early out. I personally, am going to try to wait until I'm a full 12 months out before I even mention wanting to try (I say that now, but tomorrow I'm gonna be like "I GOTTA HAVE A BABY!!!" lol).
I know if I mention wanting to have a baby, my mom would go ballistic, lol... which is why if we do decide we're going to, we wouldn't tell her until the deed was done, lol... then she would have nothing to do but to warm up to the idea and get excited about being a grandmother, and give me lots of free medical advice
, and ultrasounds, tee-hee.
Anyways, if you ever want to chat, feel free to email me [email protected]

Topic: RE: Who had a WOW moment(s) this week?
I've had a few WOW moments this week.
First: I dropped four pounds overnight a few days ago to suddenly reach 189. Been holding there steady since.
Second: I wore one of the pairs of 14 jeans that I was so excited to fit into a few months ago. They were too big.
Third: I finally was forced to go through my closet and pitch the stuff that I just can't wear anymore. I used to have piles of clothes and only a few things I could actually wear because I was too huge. Now I have piles of clothes and only a few things I can actually wear because I am too small.
Fourth: I can wear Juniors 11/12 jeans or Miss Size 10. Enough said.

I was told by my surgeon to wait at least 12 months, preferably 18 months after WLS to get pregnant. Check with your surgeon to see what his recommendations are...
Good Luck!!
