Topic: Wow!! Today is my 1 Yr Surgiversary!!
Where did all the time go? I am sitting here reflecting on my journey for the past 12 months. I have lost a total of 163 lbs and wear a snug size 12 and loose size 14. I started at 343 lbs (highest weight) and now weigh 180 lbs!! My BMI is 29.9; I am no longer obese, I am overwight; almost normal!! While I was out and about yesterday, I got cat calls from two different guys. I found it very annoying and rude when I was in my 20's ( just turned 50 in Feb), but don't mind it now. It was a real boost for my ego. I told my daughter about the cat calls and she told me that they probably think I am hot. I have never thought of myself as a hottie. I feel really good about myself. I can walk and talk at the same time. In fact, I can walk for miles without getting out of breath. I can sit in the floor with my legs folded and actually get up without any assistance. I can cross my legs and sit like a lady. I have a pretty walk, now. I can't scratch my back, now. My two grandchildren can sit with me in my recliner. They used to have to sit in my lap. Let me tell you about my health!! I feel so good! I no longer suffer from lower back, joint or knee pain. I used to hurt all over my body!! No more acid relux. I still have sleep apnea, but it has improved greatly. I also have primary lymphedema in my legs and the weightloss along with therapy has caused a positive impact. I can now wear a dress without being self-conscience. All I can say, is God Bless my surgeon Dr. Roger De La Torre!! What a tremendous tool I have been blessed with!! Thanks for all of your support, ObesityHelp.com members! I had many questions as a pre-op and post-op. Pam 343/180/135 45 lbs to goal!!

I have lost 128lbs. I dont get on here very much anymore, but I wanted to share my excitement. I am shocked at how emotional i feel though. 1 year ago today, I made a life changing decision and am loving life ever since. I didnt expect to feel this way. I am so grateful to OH and my surgeon and staff, and you know, I am very proud of myself, this surgery is a new commitment to life and a whole new lifestyle. I would love to lose about 40 more lbs, but I have to say if I stayed where I am at(185), I cant complain. good Luck to everyone and congratulations, what an achievement we have made.

Wow, you have lost so much and have sooooo much to be thankful for. Today is my anniversary and have lost 90 pounds. I was 233 now 143. I would like to lose another 10 pounds myself. I have been stuck here for about 3 months now. Lets now look at the WHOLE picture. Where were you a year ago? There are so many people literally dying to have this surgery, we are soooooooo lucky. I think you have done amazing on your journey, keep it up!

Gina Gina Gina, That is sooooooo good, and you look really great. I have a question for you, have you ever during your journey just stopped loosing weight and felt like that was it b/c I think that is where I am now. I had my surgery 4/13/2005 at 281 to 160 and I am 5 2" as well, so I am wondering If there is anything that I can do to get this thing going b/c I am feeling pretty stuck here. Any advice?
