Topic: RE: POLL: What will you do????
Hi Gina, wow look at you, your new pic is stunning. It is my anniversary today and I am just back from taking my dad to the hospital for a check on his heart and now off to visit my mum in the nursing home. I am going to take an hour this afternoon to sit and reflect on the year that was, and then I am going to post on the main OH board what I write. May I say it has been an honour to watch your journey and know you over the past year.

Topic: RE: I am getting dicouraged
Hi Alice, it is very hard to not get discouraged when the scales just wont shift. I have suffered depression during the past year as seems to be pretty common with us on this board. I am one year out today, and even though I havnt lost the staggering amount that most others on here have, I am still much better physically than I was a year ago. Keep your chin up, and do like I do, and instead of one year goal, I had to reassess my vision for a two year goal.

Topic: MUCH BETTER Update on my website........
.
.
You may remember last week I was very down in the dumps because a drunken jerk called me "fat".
I have another new update on my website, along with new photos from today, taken in my new Size 10 Jeans!!
There is also a photo with my client taken in November 2004, and a new photo taken today with him. After viewing the photos, plus after the good swift kick in the butt my best friend Maur, delivered to me upon hearing me whine about the drunk guy at Bristol calling me fat, I've decided to say this.....
The Bristol drunk can kiss my Size 10 butt!!!!!
Maur basically told me that I was crazy to give some drunken stranger ANY credence whatsoever, and no matter what, I have come a long way and should not pay any attention to jerks like that. I agree. I also realized I had on FIVE layers of top clothing that day (t-shirt, sweater, hooded sweatshirt, leather jacket, and Jeff Gordon jacket over that), plus two layers of pants (regular pants and a heavy pair of sweats). The guy was a jerk, with no manners, plain and simple. I'm better than that, and won't let stupid comments like that bring me down!

Topic: 7 month plateau and exercise
Okay, I'm a year post op and quit losing weight but not inches at 7 months.
I weighed 145 in November size 10 and now I'm 145 in April size 6, I work out tons.
Has anyone ever had this happen to them. I firmly believe I quit losing due to working out.
Anyone experienced this? Makes me

Topic: Who had a WOW moment(s) this week?
Good Morning Everyone,
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and have a great week ahead of you.
Well, I got to moving this week with my man Tracy and I'm proud to say that at almost a year out this tool still works! I used it to my advantage and cut back carbs and my food intake, upped my water, and exercised and I lost 6 lbs! YAHOO!
My second WOW moment was taking measurements. I have lost a total of 140 inches. I am 5'2" and can now say I was rounder then I was tall.
I have lost 2 plus me in height in inches. I hope that made sense.
My third WOW moment was buying my first bikini. I have not wore one of those since I was 3 years old.
So, what were your WOW moment(s) this week?
Come on out
and share them with us. We
to hear them.
Gina

Topic: RE: Friday Nugget of Encouragement
Hi Bryna,
I appreciate your encouragement. After we talked (emailed) I got serious about the water, no carbs, etc. and got back to the gym. In only a few days I am down to 171.5 from 176! Maybe it was gonna move anyway, but I think the water did the trick.
I have really appreciated finding this group. Everyone I know thinks I've done just great losing weight, and I AM pleased to have lost almost 113#, but I'd like to get all I can from this and I really think I could stand to drop another 25-30#. I'm starting to hear "your skin and bones!" (I'm not) and "you're just fine the way you are" (I am, but I'd like to be even better!). Bottom line: I need to finish what I've started and I'm beginning to rediscover my motivation, thanks to you all. So I'd love to have a weekly challenge of, say 2# or so? I'm sure it's doable even though we are all losing a bit slower these days.
When I first began this journey, I didn't think I could do it. Then the weight started coming off and I began to believe I really could reach my goal. These last few months I've forgotten how hard I've worked to get to this point, but my determination has returned and I WILL finish what I've started!
Not quitting so close to the finish line,
Darlene
