Topic: Question for you April Baby's
I'm starting to get a little concerned. For the last two month's my weight loss had slowed down tremendously. This week, I did what my surgeon suggested ate 5 small meals a day and BOOM the scale moved 1 lb a day. The excitement was just like when I first had surgery and the scale would move almost everyday. I lost a total of 6 lbs this week. What concern's me is, I am at my surgeon's goal. His goal was 150lbs however, my personal goal is 125/130 I'm short, 5'2". As of today I'm at 131 lbs. Has this happened to any of you April Baby's? Gina

I feel as if I've been neutered. I go along with my husband when he needs it and I try not to act as if I'm doing him a big favor but that's what I'm doing. I don't know if it's a temporary thing but it's been going on for months.

Girl you are not ALONE, It was like have surgery and lose all your sex drive. I'm completely baffled that my sex drive is GONE, I asked my surgeon and he said rapid weight loss can effect the hormones in some women. I guess that's me and you! I'm going to get some blood work done here in a couple of weeks to check those hormones! It's so frustrating and I know my hubby is sick of it. (Well he doesn't say anything). I'm completely frustrated at faking it ! I don't know what to tell you other than just hang in there and hopefully we'll figure it out! Let me know if it comes back and maybe I can look in the same place for mine! Glad I'm not alone and thanks for posting this! S

I have heard that this is not uncommon. Our changing bodies are trying to adjust and our hormones are all over the place. As long as you know that is just an adjustment period and not something specific that you are feeling (such as being uncomfortable with your new body or having issues with husband) then it should work itself out within a few months from what I understand. I know that for myself, I was VERY interested in activity before surgery and while I am comfortable with my level of desire now, it is nowhere near where it was pre-op. Actually, I just saw an article on it on wlscenter.com, Barbara J.'s site. I believe that it is in her latest newsletter. Good luck.

Yep, been there. Mine started around 5 months post op. Lasted for many months. I think I'm just now getting back into it. I wasn't interested at ALL. Would rather sleep. Maybe it has somthing to do with when you hit around 100 pound loss? Add your post to the main board and I bet you'll get more responses to this. I have. Good luck! Poor hubby. amber 296/155/140 -141 (15 more to my goal)

Amber, congratulations on your WOW's!!! I have ring guards on my wedding rings to prevent them from slipping off. Eventually I'll have them sized properly, but the guards to the trick for the moment. And 90% lost!!! That's the best news. Have a fabulous w/e relishing in your WOW's!! L*

Hello, Just wanted to let you know that I also had surgery in April and started at 256. I'm currently at 172 lbs - so you are doing better than I am!! My weight loss has slowed or shall I say stopped. I've tried a variety of things and think that we just need to wait it out a bit. I was also hoping to have joined the century club by my one year - but I'm not going to kill myself to get there. Because we had less to lose than a lot of other people, I think its hard to see those big numbers and everyone passing us by. I think you are doing fabulous and that with time and exercise - you will reach your goal. I've accepted that I might not reach my goal - but if I can get within 10 lbs of it - I will be happy. I could never have done that without this surgery. Good luck and hang in there! Linda
