Topic: I've lost 100 pounds as of today!!
I'm six weeks from my one year WLS and have lost 100 pounds! I was so excited when I saw the scale, I started shrieking and scared the heck out of my husband and dogs.
I'd been losing and gaining the same four pounds for a couple months and finally pulled up my socks and started a carbohydrate fast Sundy night. It kicked started my system big time and I still have ten days to go and hope to break into the 150s by the end.
So how does one join the Century Club? Is there an actual place with a real "hold in your hand" card you can request? I want one of those cards!
I feel so good and proud of myself today. My husband is going to have to come up with a magnificent reward for this milestone! Something that sparkles!

Patience, that's the key.
Understand that your body went through a major trauma with WLS, it takes time to adjust.
Change your food plan. If you're having protein shakes for breakfast, then try switching to cereal and milk. Increase your protein intake by 50%. Increase your water intake. I found that the best way for me to jumpstart after a plateau is to change my foods. If you're having a piece of fruit, have a handful of nuts with it. Things like this helped me a lot. Also, change your exercise routine, if you're doing cardio, try running...
I started at 255 and I'm now 155-157, depending on the day.

Topic: RE: 10 Months and and 16 days only lost 70lbs Help!!
Gosh, I knew I couldn't b the only one in this situation. and yea failer i feel like the big F. My daugter just went into surgery for the bi pass Feb 28 she suppose to come home today.. she is doing fine, and I noticed the same staff, Doctor that I had but, the first pain meds she got was a shot. I had to drink my pain meds from the get go..many things was different sence 11 months ago.. I was called a failer by one of my family members and we will have to work our butts off. anyways. being with her is going to help me get on track again. I just stay hungry and graze a lot. Like you mine I stoped losing about oct too "sounds like our metabolizm are a lot a like" while in the hospital I talked with my surgeon and asked him if the pouch could have stretched sence he was my daughters doctor it was handy for me to mention my Issues to him. He said no and I asked him how long would the weight continue to drop he said up to 18 months, and that he had some patients to lose up to 3 years that gave me hope , The staff trainer came in to discuss exercise with my daughter and he told me to get moving, which i have been very lazy with he said up to 45 minutes a day, stop eating at 6:00 or 8:00PM, Heck he actually came back to the hospital and took me for a walk down around the hospital thats dedication just to get me motivated. So I believe my daughters surgery bounced me back on track.. I hope this helps you.. Plz stay in touch or email me.. cus we have lots in common..Edna [email protected]

Honey, I wish I could.
I am in the SAME BOAT. Haven't lost a pound since November!!
I have no idea what's going on with my body either. I too compare myself with others and can't seem to figure out what's wrong here!
Girl, I just don't have any good advice because I'm stuck in the same spot you are.
I started at 231 and I bounce between 140 and 145. My goal is 130 and believe me I still need to lose some more. But please, why I've stopped is beyond me!!
Hang in there and keep talking about it, it feels good to know your not alone, I'm right here with you!
Hugs,
S
Topic: need some encouragemnt...
yes folks , i need some encouragement. Let me give you some background on me a month after i had wls this would be may of 05 i started having migraines, sever migraines, i have been to the docs i have been to the neroulogist (sp?) and they put me on some pain meds, but i dont want to be on pain meds for the rest of my life. another thing is , i stopped losing weight i understand the need for plautes that your body needs time to adjust. But it got to the point where i was living for 4 days off of isopure and nothing else just trying to make the scale move in the right direction, and i know people will tell you not to comapare yourself to others or whats your protein intake and things like that, i had apost a few weeks back about this and everyone seem to suggest that i ws not eating enough so i doubled up on the calories and protein and nothing, zip, zilch. I am starting to get very depressed that i cant make it to the centruy club like my fellow peers that had surgery in april 05 some have lost alot more than that like 140 lbs. granted i know i started as a "light weight" at 265 but really whats a girl gotta do to make the scale move in the right direction? i exercise every other day i am drinking enough and i take all my vits but nothing seems to help when i stopped eating for the 4 days my family threated me with a feedtube so i went back to eating . now that i am eating again this is day 2 , i have gained that 1 pound plus another 2 pounds....... can someone please give me words of encouragemnt on how to handle this? and does anyone else suffer from migraines since thier wls?
thanks
Danielle

Topic: RE: Century Club!!!!
.
Hi Heidi!
CONGRATULATIONS on your Century Club!!
And I must say, you look FABULOUS in that corset!!!
OMG, I love it!!! Must go shopping! Hee, hee!
We definitely have the same tastes, my dear!
I've still got a long way to go in my journey. I've lost
122 so far -- from 310 to 188 -- but I have 68 to go
to get to my surgeon's goal weight of 120, and 52 to
go to get to "Normal" BMI range for my height (5'2").
For the most part, it's been great so far!
