Topic: Who had a WOW moment(s) this week?
Good Morning Everyone,
I hope you all had a great weekend and have a wonderful week ahead of you. It's time to brag on yourself so, come on out and do it! We
to hear from you.
Who had a WOW moment(s) this week?
My WOW moment this week was at work, I realized that everytime I walk out the main door and a man is walking he will wait and hold the door open for me.
I am no longer invisible to others. Realizing this was priceless!
So, what was your WOW moment(s) this week?
Gina

Linda,
I am an April 2005 post op. I haven't lost any weight in 3 months. I am not sure why but I have dropped a dress size. I have lost 67 pounds but have dropped 5 dress sizes. I think it is not the wieght as much as the over all conditioning of your body. The fat goes but the muscle must stay. So if you're keeping up with your protein the muscle will stay strong. Muscle weighs more than fat.
I have had to tell myself that numbers is not what it is all about. The pouch is there to stay. I found a wonderful link that you might be interested in http://www.renewedreflections.com/news/gastric-bypass-diet/gastric-bypass-diet-single-news/article/gastric-bypass-pouch-rules/ this is a wonderful explanation of the pouch and how to take care of it. I found out about it on this site. It gave me a lot of peace.
I think the greatest thing we have to remember is not to beat ourselves up we are human and we will fail but .....remember to dust yourelf off and get back up on the walk of success "step out of the box again" Ü
Take care....remember "You're Special"

Topic: Help with insurance!! United Healthcare
I am new to the site. I am interested in lap-band surgery. I am disappointed from the start. I called my ins. company and they said that they do not cover this surgery. I am very curious how I keep finding people that have United Healthcare and are covered?....I live in Massachusetts. If anyone has any info. they care to share, please let me know.

Topic: Wow moment, I am going to be on the local TV commerical!
Hello my fellow April WLS buddies!
Well I know some of you know that I have been going to the gym for the last 5 months. Well the last week, they posted up sign up sheets for anyone that wanted to be on there TV commerical. Well, I am the type that is very shy and quiet but I do open up and speak my mind to some people. Well one of the trainers/monitors at the gym over heard me talking about the commerical and last week and I said that I would not be signing no paper.... Well, come to find out the trainer put me down for it... Well yesterday morning I am there doing my strength training rountine and I am checking off my activities that I have completed and tell my trainer that I am going to do my 30 minute cardio on the treadmill. Well low and behold all the treadmills are surrounded with all these flood lights... I am saying to myself what is up with this...well I the lights were off when I started and I am going along and about 20 minutes into my cardio... BAM! here is the lights and here rolles in the camera crew... I am just sweating like a wet rat... and going with the beat of my MP3 player..... I here action! from one of the guys... I just looked down for a secound and then looked up and kept on walking with a grin on my face... and had a cheer squad going ...... I was over welmed and I could have kicked my trainers rear end for doing that... But I am going to be on the TV commerical!
I just had to share this with you all..
Take care,
Tom

Lynda,
Well I have to say my weight loss has slowed down to about 2 to 3 lbs per week now but, I have found that I have to do a bit morre excerise to keep it going and to mix it up a bit.. I mean don't do the same thing everyday.. I have been doing this for the last month and it sure has helped. Also I have upped my calorie intake too. Instead of the 3 mini meals a day I have also add 4 protein snacks and keep drinking at least 80 ozs of water /day. I also drink up to 3 cups of regular coffee /day ... That is my weakness these days. I found that if I am not losing weight. I am losing inches I am now wear size 3 xl clothes and there so darn baggie that I am like what the heck is going on... It looks like I am carrying a tire around my belly now... but I still have to lose another 100 lbs before PS.
But I think we Apirlites are in the same boat.... The ol' Honey Moon is over and we have to work to keep the scales reading the negative readings.
I am working out at the gym now 4 to 5 days per week now.

Hello April 2005 losers...
I had surgery on April 11, 2004..I have lost a total of 150 lbs....I have such unimaginable skin issues....I am bruising very serverly under my tummy flap which is extremely heavy....I saw my PCP on Monday and he sent a referral for me to see a surgeon to have the Pannus removed....
I recieved a call yesterday...4 days later that I had been approved for the surgeon visit...I am having a consult on On Feb 10th that is just 6 short days away from now....
This is just unbelievable...I am getting ready to wrap this who process up with a Pannieculectomy....
When I had surgery less then 10 months ago...I cried and cried because I thought I would never see myself to the losing side...
Look at me now...I am 2 entierly different people....I lost half of who I was....Litterally...
Well Wish me well....I need all the support I can get...I am a bit nervous to say good bye to my old friend..The Pannus..which has been a part of me for over 30 years....
Love you all...very much...God bless each of your journeys....
