Cigna is the worst to deal with. They actally made me do 2 "26 wk. diets". But, don't give up. I am happy to say that I am now 4 mths post-op and have lost 86lbs! Document everything they tell you, every call you make. You would not believe what they put me through. I had to see my PCP every month and he documented everything I was doing to loose weight. That's what they want to see. Good luck! Teresa

Hey Love- I work at Cigna and have Cigna insurance. Our policies are pretty strict. I was denied my first attempt November 2004. I had very good documentation and a strong medical case but........ they said NO. They want to see that every measure has been exausted. I met EVERY COMPONENT but the six month deal. I had test after test, saw the dietician, had an evaluation and so on. They were not biting on that. I kept seeing my provider and did not give up although frustrated. After 9 months- I was approved. Dont give up. You know- our Medical Directors make the call!
