Finally, a WOW moment!!!!
I went on a field trip to the Toledo Zoo with about 50 students the other day. Before surgery I had hip pain and on a bad day walking a short distance killed me.
I kept up with the kids no problem. I was up and down the stairs and didn't miss a single exhibit. Towards the end of the day , the other adults sat outside of the exhibits and told the kids to meet them back there when they were done. Last year I would have been one of the people sitting there waiting, but now I was on the go non-stop. And when I got home , I wasn't exhausted!!!! A year ago I would have come home , in pain , and would have been done for the rest of the day.
I have noticed little things here and there, like being able to go up the stairs without huffing and puffing for 5 minutes after, but this was the first time I realized what a huge change this surgery is making in my life.
Lisa,
That's awesome!! Doesn't it feel great? I was at a conference yesterday and was able to walk up a large flight of steps without huffing and puffing, too. It feels like a miracle. I haven't had the energy that it sounds like you have. I come home after teaching and am exhausted. In fact, I just had blood work done to make sure that I'm not anemic. It all came back normal.
Keep sharing your successes!! And,

That is just fabuous Lisa!!! Congratulations! I just moved from my house in the country to an apartment overlooking the Mississippi river in downtown Minneapolis. The move went well and I am excited to be close to work (I was driving 60 miles each way from home to work, now I have a 10 minute walk in the skyway!). I have to say I am very sore, but I could do so much more than I used to and had a lot more energy. Isn't it great??
Way to go Lisa, keep up the wonderful, wonderful work and you will be fit, healthy and at goal before you know it!

Jo
