Thanks for your response! I'm probably just being paranoid...I think I'm on point with everything else...and it frustates me that I cave at the smell of wine.
I know what you mean though...that next day is shot all to heck, even with 1 glass!
Thanks again for your response...I'm working on whipping up some fun protein shakes as this weather gets nicer...hoping that will keep me on track!

Topic: RE: Weekend Challenge anyone?
I can only post on my profile. I don't know how to attach pictures to a message on this board. Put it on your profile and then let us know that we can check out your "new" updated photo.
Looking forward to seeing it.

Are we able to post pics on this forum? I have one from my recent trip to Disney! My before and after is crazy to see side by side!!!! I can't believe that was me? I never saw myself that big even though I was. I knew I was big but was blind when I looked in the mirror.
Topic: Happy 8 months Anniversary Everyone!
Yesterday I was too busy to post on here. Happy Anniversary to all of you sharing July 14th WLS date! Also to the rest of you July'ers!
How is everyone?
I started at 242 and today am at 159. I couldn't be happier! I have struggled on and off with staying on track but like my blog song says "It's all about the climb". We can all learn from our stumbles. I think that keeping myself positive if half the battle.
I am 9 lbs away from my mini goal of 150 and a mere 24 lbs away from my Ultimate Goal!!! So excited about getting so close. I want to be able to say I did it by my year anniversary. The process has slowed down a lot for me. But I think that is typical. The last 10 I have heard can be the hardest. So will try to stay the course and keep on chugging (protein drinks that is!)

Topic: RE: Question with the Booze...
Been there. I have no problem with alcohol. In fact, I can drink A LOT! But they are empty calories and if I drink then the next day I have this brain fog that lasts all day. At least I don't get the headaches anymore. LOL
I'm staying away from alcohol because I can't afford to spend the next day doing nothing. AND I am trying to get to my goal weight and alcohol is just calories and carbs.
Guinness is my alcohol of choice, however, I have been told I can not have carbonated drinks until a year out so I have not had any beer since July. I really miss that.

Topic: Question with the Booze...
So I've been bad...I can't eat much of anything..I'm lucky if I can get in 1/4 of a cup of food...but this mama can drink.
Here's the deal, I get in my protein goals...and the food I do eat is super healthy..I've pretty much gone the all nautral food way of life. (Whole grains, organic, tofu..kinda stuff.) BUT I can't really eat much of anything.
I love a good glass of wine and I find myself drinking with no problems.
I'm not saying I need AA by any means, but I'm worried that I am even allowed to tolerate beer and wine. Trust me, I had one cookie and dumped like it was no ones business...but 3 glasses of wine go down like water.
If anyone can relate, please let me know...it just doesn't make sense in my head and I'm afraid to mention it to my doctor for frear that she will think I need some intervention of some sort! LOL

Topic: RE: Weird Week
I run into this sometimes, too. Sometimes I tell them about the surgery and sometimes I don't. It just depends on my mood at the moment, the surroundings, how I feel about the person who is asking - there is no particular rhyme or reason. I've told many people but there have been several that I have just told "I'm eating less" or something really general. It's up to you. You have nothing to be ashamed of and should be proud of yourself. But, it is also a personal medical issue and you don't owe anyone an explanation. Personally, I think it is generally distasteful for people to ask such questions - there are many reasons why people lose weight and the bottom line is that the answer to "how" is always going to be "eating less" and/or "exercising more." They are the only two ways to lose weight. Period. Don't stress over it either way - it's entirely up to you how you want to handle the question.
