Cindy,
Thanks so much for replying! I was a little scared but also happy that I could eat.
I guess I should stop reading that book....I couldn't sleep.

Topic: RE: Help.......Having a problem!!!
Hi Chris...don't panic. Have you measured yourself in your undies? I seem to stand still weight wise and then my clothes appear looser,,my DS actually measured me 3 weeks ago for the 1st time,,had forgotten to do it before I went in for the lapbanding. Don't be too hard on yourself,,due to another unrelated and physical problem ,I cannot do any formal exercise so I walk round and round my backyard and the local huge shopping centre as many days as I can,,it all helps. Take heart, it will work,,Cheers,, Carol

HI, I ordered some of this tonight. Grape flavor more of a beverage than a shake. Tired of shakes and last two times I took them I had bad days. So I will switch for a while. I am over on Texas from time to time or here or on the mens bloard. I am heading over to Texas to see if there is a update on Tom see you there.

Hi Traci,
My dietician said I would start by eating about a 1/2 cup and go up to a cup. I can eat about a 1/2 of cup now. That is strange that that book said so little. I don't know.

Hey Reggie,
I mostly post on the TX boards and havent seen you in a while.
I have been wondering how you are doing ?
I hope you arent having any problems. I found a protein drink at Smoothie King made by Labrada, It is Chocolate Ice Cream flavor and sits pretty well, I do find that it is a bit sweet so I have been mixing 1/2 the bottle (1 bottle 17oz with 40 gr protein)
with 4 oz of Mootopia Milk that gives me 27 grams of protien and it it more tolerable as it isnt so sweet. I have been fortunate not to have any nausea issues to speak of.
I wish you the best ~~

as for me im about the same as you are and i was also concerned it might be too much ... its just so hard to tell
Topic: RE: A little more tired
Tell your husband that for some people it is normal to be tired for up to 4 or 5 weeks.
He doesn't understand, poor thing. Mine didn't either, until he had surgery 8 months after mine. THEN he got it. Although he was back at work in three weeks, and worked from home after two weeks, he wasn't back to himself for two months.
Try to identify your best times of the day ( mine were about an hour after a meal, before was too soon and after that I was out of gas again.) Use those times to do little jobs. I folded clothes sitting on the bed (he carried them in), I dried dishes sitting at the table( he washed and my little boy did put away), I did light dusting( no low bending or high reaching) and he vacuumed. Since he does all the cooking anyway, that was no problem.
The hubby is probably exhausted by now, too. Call in a friend to take the kids or call out for pizza to give him a break. My hubby wouldn't order pizza for fear of "upsetting me"
I laughed and said" Nah, it gags me to look at it. Enjoy!" Bless his little heart, he made me a protein pizza!!!!( protein mix in pureed cottage cheese with italian seasonings, tomato sauce and parmesan cheese. ) 20 months later it sounds awful, but at the time it was GREAT!!!!
Best wishes
Lou Ann
Topic: Hello....How much can you eat???
Hello Everyone!
I am wondering how much everyone can eat??? I am begining to worry because I can eat about 1/4 cup of food. The Weight Loss For Dummies book says I should eat 1 - 1 1/2 tablespoon.
I am not worried.....YET. I am able to get my protein in with food which I am so grateful for because the shakes were killing me. I do have shakes at least three times a week after working out with the trainer.
How much can you eat??

Topic: Greetings from a 1/19/05 GPS alumni!
Hi, all!
I have been skulking around here to see what is happening a year and a half after my own surgery. Guess I was curious to see what was the same or different? So far, I feel kinda nostalgic. Reading about the pain, scars, drainage tubes, bathroom issues, and of course the ever present eating issues, I feel blessed to have come through it and reached the other side. I also met some some incredible people who I am still in contact with today.
To all of you, welcome to the losers' club and for those of you just beginning the journey, feel free to contact me anytime. Although my pics are not up to date ( I've lost another 70 lbs. since then), I am proudly maintaining now and doing great.
