My instructions say no nail polish. My daughter had emergency surgery once and they gave me nail polish remover and had me remove her nail polish before she went in. So, you will probably have to remove your nice pretty polish.

Your not alone Kelly, I'm suffering too. I'm 4 days post-op and I can't seem to find relief either. I'm calling Dr. Murr's office tomorrow to see what could be wrong. Hope you get to feeling better renee

Topic: Nailpolish during surgery?
Ok my August friends... I probably have the most simple and straight forward question here. I am wondering if you are allowed to wear nail polish during surgery? I know it's a simple question, and I will check with my surgeons office tomorrow, but I am just "kinda" seeing what the rule of thumb here is..... I went to get my nails done Saturday and tried calling the doctors office and hospital from the salon, neither had someone there who could answer my question.... so I got them painted, but will take it off before I leave for the hospital if I can't wear it in the OR. I am just passing time, surgery is Thursday, nerves are rough at times, but the liquid diet is worse! I hope all of my August friends are doing well........ God bless us all. God be with us all during this final week of August Michelle @ the NJ Shore

Hello all you Monday girls! Good luck to all of you. May God continue to watch over you and give you peace during this time. I am so glad for you that your day has finally come Mine is Thursday, by then you all will be home from the hospital, resting in your own beds. I agree with the liquid diet thing, it stinks. But we will be better of because of it too. God bless us all! Michelle in NJ

Hey girl, First of all, I'd like to make sure that you are feeling better. I had my surgery on the 15th and I'm still trying to get used to it! I do have to say, Dr Stickler and his nurses all told me that it was going to hurt. One of the nurses, Kelly, told us to expect the worst and then we would be prepared for anything! Well, it seemed to work for me. I knew that I was going to feel really bad the first couple of days, but it really wasn't as bad as I had pictured. My left side still hurts some and I have a knot under one of my incisions that hurts sometimes. Also, the nausua patch they gave me before surgery seemed to help because I didn't get sick any in the hospital. I have only gotten sick one time since my surgery, but it was because I got a cold. Anyhow, I'm not sure how long until we will all feel completely better, but hopefully it will be soon! Good luck to you and everyone else and here's to losing weight! Jessie C. Welcome home Karen! Congrats on your successful surgery. I had RNY on 8/16 and am feeling pretty good. Having the staples removed was great, less pulling on the skin goes a long way towards making your belly feel better. Try some sugarfree popsicles to soothe your tongue. You are well on your wayMaryG

Hello Tommy, I had my WLS on 8/09. I am right at the 30lb mark too and was frustrated when the last few days the scale hasn't moved much despite my restricted calories. I am having a hard time with my protien because I don't care too much for the flavor, and am feeling very weak and low energy. I am trying to get down as much fluid as possible and as for diet I am trying to think protien first. Hope you continue to do well, Darlene
