My name is Allison and I had surgery on 8/22. I am home and have been very sore on my left side. Getting the gas out sucks! Tonight I began to feel a little nausea and have been unable to get all of my liquids in. Ohh, i hope tomorrow is a better day.

Hi ladies!
Thanks for all the great posts! I think we've all got ourselves together! And I totally agree about operating heavy machinery while on pain meds! LOL My 17 year old daughter thought that was funny even though she knows that she will have to pull her weight a bit better immediately after my surgery. She's actually helping me clean today..... This is something she hardly EVER does these days!
Keep up the good work and keep your spirits up!
Hugs,
Lea

Mine is Monday also. I had my final pre-op appointment with my surgeon on Thursday and he said that if I wasn't anxious/nervous, he'd be nervous about what was wrong with me! Good luck to all! Oh, and Nili, I'm a regular visitor to your neck of the woods -- I try to make it to Sanibel at least once a year. This year I've been twice since December. You live in a wonderful area!

Nili~
Mine is 8/31 and I am nervous too, I think something would be wrong if we weren't nervous. Peace and best wishes to you with your surgery.

Lea,
I too, am having surgery on the 29th. I am glad to hear you are so calm and I can report for the most part, I am calm as well. I went shopping for my hospital clothes (i.e. slippers and comfy robes). I was so excited to have found two nice terrycloth robes and they were on clearance for $4.98! I love Target! LOL!
Anyway, best wishes to you on Tuesday.

Just wanted to stop in and say HI. I had my wls on 8/8. I lost so far close to 30lbs. The last few days the scale seamed to flucuate ( i misspelled that ). I just want to know what other people are doing about food and there diet. I feel I am eating to much at times because I dont really get that full feeling. Also I like to get to know people who are just like me who needed this surgery to help us out. I am now off my diabetes med. SO I am in the right direction. So onece again saying HI to all.

Jenny, YES all of those things are considered heavy machinery! Things that would be much better operated by a 17 year old male than a woman who just had surgery! I will back you up on this one!

my surgery date was August 14, 2006. Almost two weeks postop, it is hard to believe. I have an open revision with a partial removal of my stomach and currently I have a Gastromy tube (G-tube). I was up walking the day of surgery, twice. I was blessed to have a pain buster which was in addition to my pca. It truely controlled my pain. My stomach felt extremely sore, but no writhing in pain.
Since I have been home I have lost 16 lbs. I have been taking my full liquids/ (pureed). It is hard to get enough fluid in. I take tylenol for pain/sore during the day and pain medication at night. my engery level is pretty steady. My doctor okay me to start driving and going to the gym. All in ALL I am pleased.
