I'm having Lap-Band surgery in the morning! 7:30am is my scheduled time and I'm scared! How are you feeling? It's like I'm excited one minute and scared out of my mind the next. This WHOLE time waiting has been a non-issue and now, the night before surgery, I feel like I'm ready to cry!! I just wrote some short notes to my daughters and mom and I know this is what did it. I was NOT going to write those things but tonight at work, something compelled me to do it, then I started crying right here at work. I have never had surgery so I have no idea what to expect either. ANYWAY---(switching back to the calm me for a moment) I wish you all the luck tomorrow with your RNY.

Congratulations Rose, I am about on a 2lb a day loss so far, but not walking like I should. I had a bout of head hunger when I first came home but that has passed. Keep doing what you are doing. I lost my weight in my feet first LOL. I have never seen my feet so thin...wi**** would come off the top or my belly.

That is an awesome feeling! Congrats Kristi... My loss so far seems to be only in my legs and feet. I can't wait to notice it in my upper and mid section...and some flab off my arms would be nice...

Well.. this is it! Tomorrow my life will forever be different. I'm looking forward to the journey and I have to say that it would have been harder, more confusing, lonely and not as exciting if I didn't have you guys. I really mean that. Thanks to everyone who took the time to welcome me, when I first came.. many months ago. Thanks to everyone who answered my questions although I'm sure they've been posted a million times. Thank you to those who sent me emails telling me not to give up on this journey and that everything will be okay. Thank you to all the kind words and genuine support that I received on my page. And lastly thank you guys in advance.. because I know I'll see you all on the other side. Leah

OK I went to the Dentist tonight & sat in the chari. Usually the right arm rest does not come close to my body it sticks out a litte. Well today it closed ALL the way & I still had room. YEAH!!! I am so dancing & rolling all around. What a great feeling.... Kristi

Topic: Finally home and not feeling as well as expected...
First off I would like to thank everyone for their words of encouragement to me before surgery. They did help me even though I still almost ran out of the hospital screaming. Alas I didn't, I stayed and saw it through. Wound up having to stay in there longer than expected due to bladder issues. Doc said it was just a lazy bladder muscular thing but let me tell ya it hurts like hell when you're carrying around 100 and something cc's in your bladder that you just can't get out. After the catheder, don't know if I spelled that right, experience was over with I started peeing normally and was released. Here is where I need to step on my soap box. I think it is completley inappropriate that people write about their surgical experience as in lack of pain and more discomfort. That is not a true statement and is just plain wrong and misleading to tell people that. You are going to have pain. I will tell you the truth. Now granted, with the help of pain medication and deep breaths it is bearable pain, but pain is pain. I'm not saying I regret doing it and I'm not trying to deter anyone else from doing it but I think it's only fair that you know what to expect. I guess it just would have been helpful for me to know what to expect a little more. I had the lap band surgery 2 years ago and due to health problems it wouldn't work and I had to resort to bypass. The band was discomfort this was much more than discomfort. So I wish all of you luck and I'm excited to be on the downside of the surgery cause my nerves about it have passed. I'm also happy to say that I pooed today so that makes me feel like I'm really out of the woods. If anyone has any questions that you want honest answers to feel free to ask me. Also if anyone can give me an idea when the first day you start to feel "good" again please let me know. Again, my intentions are not negative. They are of pure honesty which is what I hoped to be surronded by through the support group during this time in my life. Thanks for letting me vent, Amanda

Topic: RE: Calcium Citrate
Thanks Patty, My husband just found them at Target, they only had choc fudge and I fear that may be too sweet but rather that then nothing. I have an appt with Spectra to follow up with the nutritionist but they want another 70bucks so I may cancel it. I feel like I have a handle on the protien and now the calcium. I follow up with Dr. Murr on the 30th. Thanks Again, Darlene

Hi Darlene, I had the Citracal Creamy Bites, need to take 3 a day. However, I like them before surgery and can't stand them post op (to sweet for me). I went to the nutritionist at spectra yesterday for my 3 wk check. I had tried the Cinnamon Flavored Lozenges put out by bariatric advantage (spectra carries them). I am tolerating them much better, feel like I can get all 3 in now with no problems. Hope this helps. Patty.
