I totally understand your concern for your mom. My mom is coming to stay with me, and my sister had to take a day off from work to sit with my mom. Mom has severe anxiety on a good day. I worry more about mom than myself.
Does your mom have a good friend who can stay with her tomorrow? Maybe someone from her church, or seniors group? It could help her just to have someone to sit with and have coffee with. Also, can you sign a release and have the hospital recovery room staff call her as soon as you are in recovery to let her know you are okay?

Gosh, that so sounds like me. I can work myself up into a real frenzy. I have 8 days left, and I am starting to feel very panicky. I guess I know that is normal. For me, making lists helps and keeping busy so not to think about it too much.
We can do this.

She loves you and wants the best for you and will be worried about you until you get through your surgery. You can't reassure your mom more, other than know that she needs to go through this as much as you do. Do not take her worrying stress you out more. Deep breaths, relaxation techniques...you can do this!

I'm due at the hospital at 6:30 am EDT...my mother, wheelchair bound in CA is panicking I know. We haven't told alot of my relatives and so she's lacking someone to talk to...I feel bad, but I live out here so this needs to occur out here. My best friend flew in to stay with me for 10 days, then back to the routine...I guess I'm frustrated I can't reassure my mom more...

I HAD THE LAP RNY. no pain after the first day. after pain pump was taken off never required pain pills or shots. post of now almost a week and feel great. not hungry . feeling good.

I'm excited for you...Wow! 10lbs already. Thank you for the prayers and the well wishes...and soon I will be on the "losers bench" too...just 9 days away...and I'm on my way. Keep me posted on your progress..I would love to hear how things are going. Take care.

I'm on the 25th, too. I don't have to do the liquid diet though. My surgeon actually is one who allows the soft proteins right in the hospital. I have been shopping, though, and have the SF Instant Breakfasts all lined up, just in case my stomach has a different idea.
I'm excited for Friday. Anxious and ready to get it behind me. I'd love to compare notes and maybe keep in touch, and lend a bit of support?? my email is [email protected]
