Hi Kori, I am Trish and I am scheduled for Monday the 28th. I understand your excitement, as I am there with you all the way. My anxiety level is getting higher and my sense of awe and being thrilled is just to the max. We can pray for each other this next week and a half. God will see us through this and pretty soon we will be on the loser's bench, cheering for the September babies. Hugs, Trish

Hi there, I am August 28th. I am lucky. I don't have to do the liquid diet beforehand. There will be enough of that post-op for me. I feel exactly as you do. I am thrilled and anxious at the same time. Pretty soon we will both be on the loser's bench. Hugs, Trish

Topic: RE: Question for the new post ops's/veteren post ops?????
Hi Lea! Sorry I'm so slow at re-posting. My doc/nutritionist specified that while on liquids I had to strain them after blending so that no little 'spec' of food would or could clog my pouch. Now that I am on purreed I don't have to strain them. I was told I could have cream soups that didn't contain anything 'gassy' ie. broccoli, cauliflower, etc. So I had cream of mushroom (my favorite) and cream of chicken (seemed a bit heavy in my pouch) or cream of turkey, I had pea soup as well. I never liked pea soup before so this surgery must change your tastebuds. I bought most of my protein from bariatriceating.com. The matrix chocolate I put in my coffee and have a cappuccino, I have some isopure banana that I put in sugar free chocolate pudding. tastes just like a chocolate covered banana... yum. Some people put it in their cottage cheese and jello too. I like the Matrix the best, but they say the Isopure creamy vanilla is a good one to start with... you can add any unsweetened flavorings (from the grocery store) and make milkshakes with sugar free ice cream and lowfat milk.... or put it in any pudding or shake it over fruit or cereal.... depending where you are on the food pyramid .... hope this gives you some ideas. hugs, Barbara G.

I've been on several times to see what everyone talks about, it seems to help get things off your chest and express thoughts and concerns. So, here I am expressing...I just received my surgery date, it's for August 29th and I'm extremely excited. It will be nice to get on the "loser's bench" as it's called. Boy, am I ready!! I want to be healthier, that's my ultimate goal. Fitting into a smaller size and going into stores and knowing they have my size will be pretty good too. That's all bonus!...a really BIG bonus! Is anyone else scheduled for Aug 29th?

Lap Rny on 8/25/06 I did a lot of research, but felt that because of my weight and my issue with sweets that the rny would be best for me.

Topic: Anyone for 8/25/06?
Hi, I'm scheduled for surgery on 8/25/06 and just wondered if anyone here was too? I'm glad I stumbled across this board! Right now I am extremely anxious, nervous, excited, scared and.. well you all know exactly how I feel. I'm on a 2 week liquid diet and I'm failing miserably.. or so I feel. Because I am starving. This is very hard. As soon as I drink something about 20 minutes later I'm hungry again. I'm trying to "keep my eye on the prize" though, but it is tough. Good luck to everyone! Leah

Topic: RE: Liquid Diet
Hi! Just wanted to let you know that I am in the exact same boat as you are It is in deed hard. I started the liquid diet on Sunday and did just fine until yesterday I had to go to a luncheon at the Olive garden and although I didn't totally pig out, I did eat some food. Today was much better. I have until Sunday to be able to drink the protein shakes along with the other clear liquids. After Sunday it's all Clear liquids. This is the hardest thing I've ever done. I'm sure it's so hard for us because we're still hungry. I pray that after the surgery when I have to remain on liquids at least I won't be starving. Good luck to you, I know it's hard but it won't be forever.
