Topic: RE: Liquid Diet
Hi Chris,
Hang in there. Congrats that you made it through a very tough day. Just think of the strength that you will have to encounter these situtations post-op because you are conquering them now. Truly take it one day at a time and everything else will follow!
Good luck on the 24th and everyday after!

Topic: RE: Liquid Diet
Hi Chris,
My name is Shiela and I am doing the liquid diet as well, I do not have a surgery date as of yet. I am doing my sleep study tonight, and then we approach insurance company for approval. Your right the liquid diet is hard. I am doing GNC Lean Shake it is pretty good actually. However I do miss the solid food. I have fallen from grace on this myself and it is not an easy task when you are use to eating. I wish you all the best and I will be begging for your support
too.
Good luck and will be here for you.
Shiela

I've come too far to lose sight of my goal now and I hope your goal is focased as well. Wishing you a safe, speedy, successful surgery and recovery!

Heather,
Tomorrow you are going to have a safe surgery, a wonderful surgical team and all of the love and support from all of us to you and your family. Then you will join us on the losing side and watch as the pain is nothing, struggle to get everything in and watch the scale keep dropping numbers lower and lower. Trust me I had mine 2 weeks ago on Wednesday as well lol
I have said my prayers and will say them all day tomorrow. See you on the other side and keep me updated on how you are!!!! You know us nossey friends always want to know details rofl.

Topic: RE: Gas Ouch
Hi Rene,
My only advise is what helps me out. Keep moving to help the gas move. I get up and walk around a bit and then look around to see who is near me and POOT.

Topic: RE: New here, surgery 8/24
Hi Jan. I'm fairly new to the site also, but it has been such a Godsend. It is so nice to be able to hear from people who know what you are going through.
My surgery is also scheduled for 8/24. I started my liquid diet yesterday and have to be on it for 10 days. That really stinks, but I know it will be worth it. I am excited about being on the losing side, but I am very nervous also. I sat down with my mom on Sunday and had "the talk". I told her about what my wishes were for my husband and kids, told her about the life insurance policy, and gave her all the important phone numbers. That really upset her, but I told her that even though I know in my heart that everything is going to go just fine, I needed the peace of knowing that just in case something went wrong, that someone had the important information since my husband probably wouldn't think about any of that.
I am trying to look at all the success stories and the encouragement from all the people on this site has been wonderful. I think every emotion I have felt has also been felt by people on the site. Just stay positive and if you need anyone to talk to, feel free to email me at [email protected] or [email protected]
Have a blessed day! ``Chris
Topic: Liquid Diet
Uggghhhhhh!
This liquid diet really sucks. I'm not sure how I am going to get through 10 days of it. Low-carb slimfast is the worst. It tastes bad going down and leaves an awful after taste in my mouth. The dietician said that we can have as many as wanted but had to drink at least 3 a day. I managed to get 2 down yesterday, but just could not stomach the 3rd one last night. I drank some chicken broth yesterday afternoon and ate a sugarfree popsicle and a sugarfree jello last night. I am trying to choke down another slimfast this morning, but I'm not sure if I'm going to get it all down. In all my 36 years, I've always ate when I was hungry so this is a hard row to hoe for me. Just keep me in your thoughts and prayers. Last night when my family was having dinner, I went to my bedroom to watch TV but ended up crying about 30 minutes. Yesterday was the toughest day. We had an employee day at the college yesterday. They served a continental breakfast, which I couldn't have, then they served lunch with BBQ, chicken, potatoes, slaw, green beans, rolls, banana pudding, and tea. I wouldn't have been there except it was required because during the lunch they do the employee awards. I just sat there with my glass of water. One of the toughest things I've ever done, but I made it through yesterday. One day at a time I guess. Well I'm going to get back to work. Have a blessed day. Chris
