Topic: Surgery postponed
Hi everyone,
I just got a call from Barix, my surgery has been postponed to an unknown date (but they said hopefully Wednesday). They said they just found out that there is an illness on the surgery team and have to postpone all surgeries for Monday. 
They said that I will get a call on Monday morning with a date, but right now they don't have one to give me.
WTF?? Maybe I just should have stayed with my date for 8/24, now I wouldn't be heartbroken!
Man, this is a bummer, I was finally ready and excited and now I feel like I have been shot down.
This stinks! Any prayers or support would be appreciated.

Hi!
I just actually read your profile as I was looking for others who were having surgery the last few days of this month. I am scheduled for 8/29! I'm located in central WV, so we're not all that far apart either... I was hoping to hook up with a few other folks who were having surgery within a day or two of me so that we can plan and chat and diet together! Interested?

I am scheduled for RNY 8/30 at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Virginia. Anybody else out there having surgery that week or in Virginia?

Congratulations to those that have already had the surgery and I hope you all are doing well. Can't wait to read your posts.
I am praying for the rest of us as well that will have surgery this week: August 14-21, 2006.

I am LAP RNY on Monday 8/14. It is the right choice for me because I was afraid that I would eat around the band and sweets are my major issue!

Congrats on getting your appointments done!! I just finished with my family dr yesterday and got my surgery time (8:30am) for Monday, so I am ready to go too!
Congrats on the weight loss thus far and drop in BMI....
If you think you are taller now, just think about post surgery when you are "walking tall"...Corny, yes I know. 
I am 6'1" and 1/2 inch...I hold onto the last 1/2 inch because it means that I am taller than my hubby ;)

Hi Tanya,
WOW...Super Job...I bet you feel proud of your great accompolishment so early after surgery. Don't overdo it, take it easy and enjoy that time off work. My surgery date is wednesday Aug. 16, and can't wait. I am so ready to feel that great again, and to watch the scale go down for once. YES...save a spot for me, and I will gladly bounce with you.

Topic: 9 days post op and checkup rocked!!!
I am so happy and wanted to share with everyone. I went to my week check up and I have lost 16lbs!!!!! Dr. Davis said I am doing wonderful. My dressing was removed, and my diet got increased to soft blended food. I told him that I have been walking 1 mile a day and he was impressed but when I said that I get tired easily he said stop pushing yourself so hard- a mile is pretty much lol. My incisions are so small and healing well with a bit of bruising noted.
I have a 4-6 week short term disability cause my job has no light duty- I am an ICU RN and the no lifting >5 lbs is not possible. But Dr. davis said that if I push too hard then he will clear me to go back to work sooner lol OK OK I will slow down rofl.
Guys I feel so good and this was the best thing I could have done and want you all to know that YOU too can and will feel this good in a short amount of time. Good luck to all of you would surgery date is coming up. I am saving you a seat so we can bounce together!!!!
