Topic: RE: September one month check in and a question!
I just realized that there was a monthly board for us "losers". I am 5 weeks out (surgery 09/12/07). I have lost 46 pounds since surgery. WOO HOO! I measured myself Wednesday and found that I lost almost 39 inches in total; and, alas, my boobs are disappearing slowly but surely. I am still very sore in the mid-section and I tire very easily. This too will pass. I have no regrets! I am on my way to a new me

Topic: RE: Looking for October Surgery pals!
Hi Jennie! You may want to copy your post to the OCTOBER 2007 board if you're looking for same month buddies. Hopefully your bowels have turned back on by now. If you're taking in only liquids then you're bowel activity will slow down until you introduce solid foods back into your diet. Good luck with everything! ~ Kim

Topic: RE: Anyonw have problems with the smell of food making them feel sick?
In my first two weeks post-op i definitley did. I hated the smell and very thought of food. The third week was the complete opposite. I wanted food so bad and could do nothing but think of it.

Hi Shelley! Thanks for taking a minute to stop in and visit our August board! I agree that the weekly weigh-in is a great idea. It gives perspective to what seems like a disappointing and/or slow loss. I think in looking at how far out most of us are (I had my surgery August 2nd) we've ALL done great! It's great to see the weight steadily coming off, even if it's slower than most of us would like. What encourages me is that it's a steady LOSS. On any other diet I've ever tried it was up and down and up and down. With WLS it's a steady loss with no gain. I had some problems with a restricted esophagus and was unable to eat much for several weeks. I was at a stall for three full weeks. I didn't allow myself to get discouraged because I know this is a process and a much more successful process than any diet out there. It's great to see the wonderful results of everyone losing! God bless you all!! Brenda
