dont forget to use your pillow to push in when you cough!! my pillow was a savior!
take your pain meds! my dr says that a lot of people say they just dont want to take them....he says that he believes you heel quicker when you take them b/c you can relax more and let your body do its healing instead of tossin and turning etc... and bending---dont be bending!!!

Topic: Surgery scheduled for Sept 29, 2008. Nervous, but excited

Just found this forum. Working on updating my profile so stay tuned.

My surgery date is scheduled for Sept 29 and I am nervous! Everyone keeps asking me "aren't you excited"??? I am, but I think I just read too many negative things online. I know I have a good doctor, so that is comforting. Anyone else feeling a tad nervous?

I have questions on the week before the surgery. I know I'm supposed to be on liquids, but do I start the vitamins then too? Are there medications (Advil, etc) we aren't supposed to to take during that time before surgery?

I'm sorry to hear your surgery was cancelled, but happy to hear that you & yours are safe. Hopefully time will pass quickly and you will get rescheduled before you know it.

I was supposed to be in surgery at this very moment, but due to hurricane Ike it was cancelled. We were hit pretty hard, but everyone I know is safe. I am at work so I am able to update. I have no power at home and I do not expect to have it for a couple of weeks. There are many power lines down with large trees hanging on them all throughout my neighborhood. We have a lot of work to do, but we are ok and that is all I am concerned with at this point. For all those that were affected by Ike, I am praying for you! God Bless!

It is so strange how the liquid diet takes care of so many problems. I was able to get off of my blood pressure medicines and I was on them for the past three years! Congratulations on your success. And good luck on your surgery date!
