Girl, stop baking those doggone cookies! Don't use your family as an excuse to sabotage yourself. They don't need that junk food any more than you do. I've found that for me, eating refined carbs (like sweets) stimulates my appetite. This is probably contributing to the grazing behavior you're have trouble with. Make an effort to keep fruit in your house for them to snack on. Little kids love naturally sweet raisins and bananas. If you start teaching your 3-year-old healthy eating habits now, you'll never have to worry about him/her suffering from the same problems that you did. A cookie could be an occasional treat for your family when you go out to the mall or something. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! Sue ZQ

I don't have the statistics on regaining on bypass...certainly there is a percentage that do, as with any WLS. I do know that a recent study put weight loss evening out at about 72 months post op for both bypass and band. The window of opportunity I see talked about for weightloss for a bypass patient is somewhere around 2 years. The band does not have that window due to the adjustments available. You may want to post on the revisions board, when I have been there I've seen a couple bands going over to bypass but mostly the other way for whatever reason. I think it really depends on how you feel about the surgeries and what is good for you...you will find very strong opinions either way. Good luck in your search! AnnMarie Banded 11/15/04 -95

1. What complications have you experienced as a result of surgery?absolutely none 2. How much weight have you lost total (from your highest weight)?144lbs was 335lbs now 191lbs still wanna lose another 25-30lbs. 3. What percentage of your total weight to lose have you lost - (total weight loss/ total weight to lose x 100).... You can check the weight loss planner if you are unsure of how much you should weigh for your height. Not sure 4. What has been your biggest loss (other than lbs) since surgery? Food 5. What has been your proudest achievement (other than lbs lost) since surgery? Making it to my drs. goal of 190lbs, and getting out of the 200's 6. What is next goal (other than lbs)??? To lose this last 30lbs and find Mr. Right, had to work on fixing me first, once I'm completely happy I'm sure he'll see it. Lolo

Trishie, Wow, you were a light weight, huh?! I think you are doing great and only 12 or so pounds from your goal. Are you following all the rules? Since I started back on protein first, lots of fluids and exercising, I have dropped about 4lbs since 2 days ago!! I think it's really the first drop I have seen in a while! Yeah, the healthy bmi is amazing, but I know in a few months, when we hopefully get pregnant, it will go right back up though. LOL Irony, I say!! Hee,hee. Our 1 year post op visits are a day apart, so we'll have to check in and share how it goes. I am hoping to get down to close to 130, but not sure how feasible that is. Good luck to you!! You are doing great Erica 258/141/130ish

Hi and thanks for checking in. All of us are just short of our 1 year post op anniversary, so not sure what will happen after a year post op, but I haven't had any weight gain at this point. My loss has been a lot slower over the last month, but has everything to do with no following the rules like I should. We have a couple of lap banders on here, but as for me, I stand 100% behind the RNY. I had the lap RNY and cannot believe what an amazing journey this has been. I like that there is no long term medical check ins with the RNY because I am a procrastinator and surely would not keep up with getting my fills had I had the lap band. Anyway, do your research, talk to some people who have had different types of surgeries and I wish you the best on your journey. You may want to contact the local hospitals in your area to see if they have support meetings you can attend to hear how others are dealing with their surgeries or talk to others who are pre-ops. Take care Erica 258/141/130ish
