GERD and life after WLS

Hi Monica;
I too know what you are talking about as they took me off all my meds right out of surgery and 2 weeks later I landed in the hospital again so they could tell me I needed to be back on the nexum and metotoprol for my heart. We are not all going to fit the same mold and I don't take anyones advise except my own body's and wls is a tool not a cure-all and we have to be sly as foxes and wise as owls when it comes to our health. I think after I lose another 100 lbs I might try getting off some more of my meds and maybe my cpap but at this stage of the game it is going to be steady as you go withme. Well I will talk to you soon if the Lord is willing.

I'm one of those people where the GERD is back, I guess. I stopped my Prilosec after surgery as the heartburn was completely gone. Now this week, it is back again. Well, not exactly heartburn, but rather a burning sensation in both the pouch and the stomach remnant. I don't feel sick, so I don't think it is from anything other than too much stomach acid. I added the Prilosec back in.

I'm one of the lucky ones as my GERD did not return after surgery.
I had a that feeling in my pouch for about a week after about three weeks after surgery that my GERD wanted to return but it did not and I was scared that my GERD would hang around to huant me.
I'm glad your getting better and able to talk. I love to talk so taking my voice away would be a punishment
Donna
