I put mine in a sandwich baggie in the morning and that way all that I need for the day are there and then I can take it with me when I go somewhere.  My problem is that no matter what I've taken so far I can't seem to find a way to combat the constipation with the iron supplements so I end up taking them for a few days, needing to stop for a few days, taking them for a few days when I get fixed, and starting all over again.  My ferritin was 13 when I had it drawn a couple of weeks ago, so not good!  Is there a certain type of iron that will cause less constipation problems?  I'm on Niferex 150mg prescription from my surgeon.

All iron can be "binding" to the gut. Are you taking a stool softener? I take plain colace (ducosate sodium) daily with my iron.  Some swear by miralax.  Gotta get that iron in, once that ferritin is low it is hard to get it back up as it is your storages or holding places for your iron.  You may end up on IV infusions of iron probably for life.  You do not want that... figure out a way to keep taking that Rx from your surgeon and now manage the side effect with something to help the constipation. Good luck to u!

All I can say you have to make this priority in your life... it is so important.  I don't wanna see you get sick Diana.  Gotta set an alarm or something... make it happen girl!

My bf put an alarm on his cell phone that reminds him to take his pills each day. That may help.
