It's wonderful to hear that your surgery is so close :). Wishing you well with your pre-op, and on your surgery day.  It will be here before you know it.

Thanks, Missdede!  I went ahead and did it!  I can't believe it, but I did.  I've gone twice now and while I'm still a little nervous going in, I really enjoy the the time there. Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate it!

I had gastric sleeve and it took me about 7 weeks before I felt somewhat normal again. Up until that point i was only eating a couple of tablespoons of food a day and exhausted. I took a total of 12 weeks off because I worked at a nursing home and didn't want to deal with the lifting but if I had worked somewhere else I would have still needed at least 8 weeks but again we are all different.

Topic: Movimento Fitness in St. Albert

Has anyone going to this fitness studio?   I have a membership at Servus but I haven't felt motivated to utilize it all the time.  I think its mostly because I'm not getting a lot of guidance on what to do unless I pay extra to have a personal trainer.  I looked into Orange theory but Movimento seems like a more likely candidate.

Thanks in advance,

Fiona

I had the surgery 1 1/2 years ago and have lost 100 lbs. I am asking the question above because my sister just had gastric bypass in Mexico and I honestly can't remember how long it took me to feel good enough to return to work. She is just about at 2 weeks and is still very tired and naps at least twice a day. She is scheduled to return to work on Monday

how long should you plan on taking off work after gastric bypass? How long do you feel really tired?

Hi Sophie,

I'm from Edmonton and can't help you out on the Calgary social scene; however, I would like to suggest you volunteer for a cause that you believe in. This is an activity outside the home and it can be for an event that everyone is meeting each other for the first time. Who knows, you could meet someone you click with or you could just end up feel pretty good for giving some of the best of yourself to others. It's an opportunity to be social and it doesn't have to involve food. Give it a try.
