Yes that's the right mind set to be in! Totally. Hang in there. I was super raring to go too but the time has really gone by quickly. You'll be there before you know it! I found the unknown the worse part. Once you're in and talking to someone and have more appointments booked you'll feel sooo much better! When I went for my first evolution appointment they booked my orientation and first nurse appointment that day. So you're almost there, hold on! :)

I don't have any plans yet for next weekend. I'm also in the northwest. So we could grab a coffee. Always good to talk about this crazy stuff hahaha

Thanks so much for the reply! I will definitely start a journal just wait to work with the study. I am just having one of those "I'm sick of being fat- time to make a change moments" which isn't a bad thing but I really want a permanent fix so I will just wait and follow their guides.
I will be Calgary next weekend - let me know if you want to go for coffee - I will be staying in the north west part.
The evolution study doesn't want you to start any new diet programs. They're pretty clear about that in their information that they will give you. They want to know if the information they give you helps in weight loss. So it's best not to start a new diet plan just yet. You should follow the information they give you. As for the 10% my nurse said that the surgeon might look at the weight from my study weigh is as the starting weight. I managed the 10% (juuuust) with out that so he didn't ask and it didn't really matter. So there is a good chance that they will take you weight from that. I'm thinking if you're having problems getting down to that they would totally use it. The clinic doesn't really like diets either. It's probably a smart plan to just cut back on your volume of food. And to start tracking everything you eat either in a journal or an app like my fitness pal and see where you are with daily calories. At orientation they tell you to start tracking that day. So get a head start. Hope this helps

Hi Tara,
Thanks for asking- I got some blood work done- I am not giving myself B12 shots every week, increased my iron and increased my synthroid (it seems to be helping)- our in Calgary right?
Wow!!! Thats so exciting congratulations! Im not sure if you would have any idea about this but, I am starting a new diet next week just because I have been gaining even more weight and am just tired of it so I am joining ideal protein which I have had big weight loss results on before (just never kept it off) but my worry right now is, will they count what I weight at my first evolution study meeting, since its at the bariatric center in the red deer hospital, as my starting weight or is my starting weight what I weigh at my first nurses visit? Im just worried I will lose too much weight and ruin my chances at having the surgery. I'm just so uncomfortable I started insulin and have gained almost 30 lbs in 3 months!
Hi. Thanks for your message. What clinic in Calgary were you referred to? I haven't been able to find much info for Calgary at all. Thanks.
