I was referred to the calgary clinic last March (2014) had my intake spot with the nurse in May. Nutrition classes July-August. I was approved for surgery and met the surgeon end of January (2015). He told me from the time I meet him for the first time until surgery would be about 4 months. So my surgery should be end of May-beginning of June.
Did you ever find out what was going on? Are you feeling any better now?

I haven't heard anything close to that. I'm going to the red deer clinic too. Orientation October 8th and I got approved for surgery February 3rd. Scope booked for April 24th. They said it's about a 3 month wait once the surgery is approved. So hopefully May sometime.

I'm having it in Red Deer. Even though I live in Calgary my family doctor has had better luck referring patients to red deer.... So I drive a lot ;) I don't care thought. The clinic has been amazing so it's totally worth it. I'm not super worried about clots. The treatments for them are excellent should one arise. plus the best treatment to avoid clots in the future is...... Weight loss! haha so we're doing the right thing. you could get compression socks or have your hospital bed raise at the end so your feet are elevated, that helps to get rid of the abdominal gas too.

Congratulations!! Your on your way!!! Are you a little nervous?
I thought that I had done so much research that I would be just fine but I have to admit I am nervous. I'm worried about clots. All the you tube videos I have watched provide compression stalkings. I haven't heard anything like that here. Might need to provide my own.
Are you having your surgery in Red Deer or Calgary?
Hello Koo****le :) My surgery is on the 26th of February!!
It was about 4 month from my first appointment with a doctor where I was approved to my second appointment where I signed my consent forms.
The liquid diet isn't going to be fun :( I'm doing 2 weeks.
I will have more information after I meet with Amanda my nutritionalist on the 11th.
I'm so excited!!
Thank you YEGirl!! I do need ensure high protein. I will head there tomorrow :)
Are you/or have you had surgery?
It's crazy how it really sinks in after your get your first appointment book! I saw the surgeon and it went awesome! he cleared me for surgery since I've already dropped my 10%, so I signed the papers and everything!!! crazy!! they called today with my scope appointment, april 24th!

Hi Gemini,
Everyone's journey is different . . It will be two years for me from when I started with the weight wise clini****il my actual surgery. I had a lot of emotional issues to go through, it was worth every step.
I also paused the process once for 3-4 months because I wasn't really sure that surgery was what I wanted.
All the best!
Hi there!
