1) No, you cannot have a second WL surgery to lose 30 pounds.
2) There are no "real" diet pills available in the US any longer. They have all been banned by the FDA for causing severe heart problems.
3) Yes, there is something you can do. Start eating correctly again. 600-800 calories a day, 60-100 grams of protein, no more than 40 grams of carbs. That means monitoring and knowing everything you put in your body. If you want to make your goal, exercise too.
Good luck.

Regain is VERY common. You need to go back to basics. WHY did you regain? Did you start letting simple carbs back in? Are you still eating a protein forward diet? Taking your vitamins? Drinking the required amount of liquid? Did you start drinking while you eat (or within less than 30 minutes after)? Are you working out?
The tool is still there.. use it. Go back to the beginning. Track your food intake (you might be surprised at just what you are actually eating). Measure your food and try to eat at regular intervals. Don't snack unless that is part of your PLAN. Don't drink your calories. If you have started drinking soda or sweet tea or whatever, you would be shocked at how many calories you are adding to your daily intake. Do whatever it takes to remind you of why you were excited about your surgery in the first place. Look at before and after pics. Read "newbie" literature. Come back to the boards. The RNY board is very active and very helpful. Attend a support group.
There is no magic weight loss pill. It's easier for us, because even after the malabsorption is gone, we still have restriction, but, it still takes work.
Good luck!!!

Desiree,
I've heard of having it at the same time but didn't. I actually had mine out before WLS. Recovery was a week off and I was back in the saddle. I had a John Muir Surgeon Dr. Baker take mine out. Check with Anne Timberlake and she can give you some good advice.
See you this afternoon.
Hugs,
Barb

I know it must be devastating to have gained 30lbs back. That is one of my greatest fears is gaining weight back. The most important thing is to get on top of it now. How is your exercise level? My suggestion is to go back to the basics and start tracking your food intake & your exercise. Try to cut all the simple carbs out of your diet. You will be amazed what a difference it makes.
I know this response isn't the "Quick Fix" response you wanted, but honesty there isn't a quick fix for us.

Try the 5 day pouch test to "reset" your self/tummy.
Regain is not uncommon! and it's usually explainable when we get honest with our habits.
