Topic: RE: Heading to Mexico for surgery!
Hey there:
I went to Mexico and had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy with Dr. Guillermo Alvarez back in August. I am now down 78 pounds with about 30 left to go.
It was an excellent experience: one procedure and done, no fills, unfills or adjustments necessary.
Feel free to send me a note if you want more feedback.

Topic: Hi, Y'all!!!

I'm from Louisiana, and I usually post on the VSG board, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a sugeon in CO that does the VSG. My brother lives in Colorado Springs, and he is interested in getting it done. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Topic: RE: Tell me the truth - Am I being unreasonable?
I'd like to think that questions could generate a response quickly. You need t to look at the immediacy of the question too. If it has medical implications, ask or find out when they feel expect to reply. If it is the same person who does not reply and it has become an issue, you should address you concern with Dr. Snyder, Just my 2 cents.
Topic: Tell me the truth - Am I being unreasonable?
This question is for Dr. Snyder's patients. I emailed a question (about a fill) last week to a member of Dr. Snyder's staff. I have not yet received a response.
Also, before surgery, I emailed and left voice mails for a couple of members of his staff on several occasions. Sometimes I received a call back after several days - sometimes I never did and had to initiate another call and start all over again.
So I'm thinking that either the practice is understaffed or people take patient questions very casually.
Am I being unreasonable? Has anyone else had similar experiences?
Thanks.

Sorry it took me soooooo long to respond ... I (or my body without my consent) decided to be the worst patient ever and just got out of the hospital this past Saturday. Seems I just had to complicate things every chance I got. I am still a little unsteady, so I am not sitting up on the computer much ... ask my what I did to my laptop in the hospital which is why I don't have one now ... not a pleasant story ... but kinda funny in retrospect!
Hope everyone is doing well !!
Topic: RE: New from Castle Rock
I don't think finding a Doc who would be covered. The main thing is to make sure your Insurance company covers bariatric surgery and which kind. Some companies only cover lap band while others cover any type of insurance with thorough documentation from several sources before they would authorize surgery. Trust me I went through all of this but it has been worth every challenge so far!

Congrats! I'm new to the site, still in the research stage. I'm trying to decide which doctor would be best for me that is approved by my insurance.
Good luck !

Before I found out that my insurance will cover lapband surgery, I had researched Dr. K in Aurora, CO also. Every post that I have seen regarding him are extremely positive! If you haven't already, check out his website. I have no idea what it costs in mexico, but Dr. K's price and follow up costs seem very reasonable!
Good luck!
