My 1/2 marathon

WOW!  I had no idea.  That's quite an ordeal!  What a major bummer they ran out of medals, after all that.  Hit a hot tub for soaking every night, if you can.  Or a hot bath?  I hope you feel better soon

I know I'm not ready.  I think a year of practice before I even attempt walking a 1/2 marathon after hearing your story.

Jan, do not let my story scare you. I was told by my doc to NOT do it, because of my back. But thick head fool that I am I went out and done anyway. If you work up to it, you can do it without any pain. I am sure that Kim and Monica have a much better report to give.

I am going to rest the back and let it heal, but never fear, I will be back out there.

Just ask Lynn what her nick name for me was, and why.

If I learned anything from my recent back issues it is that when you are in flare mode, stay away from the heat! It  brings the blood to the injured area and causes more inflammation and pain. Ice, Ice and ice again. BTW, my back is almost all the way better. The chiropractor and massage therapist hurt like hell, but I think it expedited the healing. I went to the one off Wood and VanBuren.
Congrats on finishing! You were amazing to persevere!

I won't let it scare me, but I will take it all very slow. :-)

Awesome job, Lulu - Y O U  F I N I S H E D!!! Even with all the pain you endured, you didn't give up - you kicked butt and got the job done!

I haven't had any time to run since the Rock n Roll in June... ok.. actually, I've had tons of time but haven't run. I'm going to get back into it after my 10 Years Younger show is done... hopefully I'll do at least half of Pasadena!

Glad you were able to finish!!! My first 1/2 marathon I was the very last person and when I finished there were no medals!! But I was in so much pain it did'nt matter because I finished!!
