Ok so I did something really stupid today. I didn't read the directions for my bowl prep kit completley and no one mentioned this to me at the hospital. So It says to eat liquids all day and take the pills at 8 am. I didn't do this I ate today and took the pill about 5pm I have already started the liquid and My surgen was on call tonight so I called and checked with him and he said I should be fine but did anyone else make such a dumb mistake like I did???? I am still scared even after talking to my doctor.

Pauline,

No worries, if he said it should be fine he knows best.  Don't be hard on yourself, everyone makes mistakes, just make sure you have liquids until they tell you to stop.  I think the bowl prep will take care of what it needs to do, you may be in the bathroom most of the night but hang in there, you'll be sleeping all day tomorrow.  Remember to walk, walk, walk and sip, sip, sip while you're in the hospital and when you get home.  Each day gets better and better, I feel wonderful only 2 and a half weeks out.

Big warm hugs, thoughts and prayers coming to you and we'll save you a nice warm spot on the losers bench.

Hugs,
Barb

No worries.  The main reason for clearing you out is so you're not as constipated after surgery.  Take whatever stool softeners he suggests a couple days after surgery and you'll be fine.  I need to take my Dulcolax daily so don't be surprised if your bathroom breaks change.

Congratulations and have a wonderful day tomorrow!

Don't worry about it.  The doctor knows best, you will just be up later than usual pooing!

Good luck tomorrow.  Wishing you the best.
