In our house we eat three types.

Kayems
Deutchmeyer (not sure if I spelled that right)
Sabrett's

All the others have some preservative that makes my daughter sick. So we rarely eat hot dogs.

I've got a great meat sauce recipe if she wants to try it. Comes from a local diner who the owner worked her way up from her hot dog cart business.

Yes, she might be interested. Can you tell me the recipe to the meat sauce?
Thanks!

I would love the recipe too, if you don't mind sharing.  I am still searching for a good meat sauce recipe for hot dogs and hamburgers

I think Sabretts is the most common one.  Make sure it's ALL BEEF, unless...

one thing i'd do if I started a food cart biz today (and I have a lot of "foodie" friends with foodcarts/food trucks) is specialize. Get a niche! Buy all local hot dogs or all buffalo or get weird toppings. Become famous for a bacon wrapped hot dog or look up Columbian Hot Dogs.

Then use Social Media, including twitter and FB daily to inform customers where she'll be and what's special about Today's Dog.

Cool name = attention too!

I want to have a lil food truck with fancy popsicles. My friends started one in Miami and it's going gang busters. The entire Food Truck/Cart scene there has exploded! But just having a truck/cart isn't enough -- you have to be different!

(Can you tell I think about these things a lot?) LOL

Hebrew National 100% Beef.  HANDS DOWN best hot dog :)
Started researching the DS in Dec 2008.  2 years and one baby later(my 3rd), I'm finally switched!

I agree! That one was our favorite in Florida. I don't know if I have seen it at the store here since we moved back to Indiana.

Nathan's.  But they are not cheap.

I second the Hebrew National 100% beef. Those are my hands-down favorite.
