Weight loss requirements before surgery

I'm scheduled to have weight loss surgery next week at mexicali bariatric center. With dr Wilhelmy. My bmi is 53, they wanted me to get to 45. I'm 8 days out and getting nervous they will cancel my surgery. It's my own fault and I'm starting the liquid diet early but I was curious everyone else's BMI before surgery

I started at 60.2 (my highest weight) and it was 50.8 the morning I was rolled into surgery. But my BMI is neither here nor there - it sounds like the issue is they wanted you to lose some weight before surgery.

I didn't have any weight loss requirements before surgery so my BMI doesn't matter (BTW it was higher than yours). Are you already in Mexico? Have you talked to them? Did they tell you up front that you needed to get to 45 or no surgery?
