I'm sooo excited! I've been approved for DS, revision to the gastric bypass. Surgery date is 7/23/19 and i can't wait!!!
Can you please give me some advice as to what I should expect after the surgery?
How do you manage all the vitamins? How is the liquid diet before and afterwards? When can you exercise? How long is the recovery period i.e time off from work?
As you can tell I'm well excited!!! Any advice is very much appreciated!
We are all so different. My DS is not your DS, because each surgeon does his own measurements. You might need more (or less). I take these everyday: A,B,C,D,E,K2 (twice)--so 7. I take copper, zinc, and iron on separate days. (iron dose is Mon-thurs; zinc and K1 on Friday- Sunday), and copper just one day every other week-- that adds 2, making 9 daily. (Because of the cardiovascular risk with calcium and atherosclerosis, I have elected not to supplement, based on my family history. I don't advocate anyone else doing this.) My labs and PTH are fine at 13.5 years. Don't do what I do. Adjust based on your labs.
I know a few Dr. Inman patients from when I lived in Ohio and we often met up somewhere in between. They spoke very highly of her, so you're in great hands.

Yes sorry, this vitalady list was from when they were out. I take 2 twice a day.

Please make sure you understand the long term affects of malabsorption and how you are going to maintain your levels for decades to come (considering you are 23), as well as commitment to the DS and the vitamins, supplements, protein, and labs that go along with it (for the rest of your life).

Divided morning, noon and evening I take about 40 - lots of calcium, devrom, D3, K1, K2, multi and various minerals, etc. which keeps all my numbers in the normal range.

Right now 25 a day split into 5 times a day. That includes 3 that are for medical reasons.

I am nearing 7 years and I follow the above Vitalady protocol. I do not take iron because after surgery I was dxd with acute myloid Leukemia which by the grace of almighty God, I arm now deemed cured. During my year of chemo I recieved over 30 bags of platelets and 38 of red blood. This caused huge iron stores on my liver requiring several plebotmies.
I am not on any perscriptions; however I do take 8 ageless cures curcumin as well. I split mine into morning and evening and my labs have been great. I do have severe osteoporosis which is being treated with a daily injection of fortero. I also keep my d3 labs in the high 60s.
Blessings
Julie
