yes. I lost 235 lbs with the RNY, and the DS is a stronger surgery than the RNY.
I weigh over 500 pounds and recently I lost 40lbs on Pre-op diet my Dr gives me but I have question Is it possible for me to lose 300 lbs with Duodenal Switch because I have a lot of weight to lose

You probably need to talk to a doctor about that and try to fund out the reason your cholesterol level is high. It might be a problem, and it might not, because some people just have higher levels of it, and it's fine.
You might also try to use some over-the-counter drugs for cholesterol, but you would need to choose carefully, and I still recommend talking to a doctor and finding out whether you need them at all or not. He might also suggest you try dieting to see whether these high cholesterol levels come from food or somewhere else. I usually rake Avas 10 mg in case of increased cholesterol levels.

The DS itself doesn't normally impact potassium levels, but your individual metabolic quirks or dietary habits may make a difference - my wife is chronically low and takes Rx supplements for it, but that's just her, not her DS doing it.

potassium is actually included in the Comprehensive Metabolic Profile. Drs order it all the time as a first basic group of tests in the diagnostic process.
if you have ever had basic blood work done this test was included. And yes, it is necessary for every surgery.
