GOOD MORNING! It's now SATURDAY morning for me and I'm doing well. I've started doing all of my weekend chores so that I will have the whole day to do all of the WONDERFUL things that I'm now able to do and LOVE SO MUCH. I'm going to go out when the light comes up and RIDE MY BIKE and then later go hiking.

Well, I started my Monday off with a BANG. I had my coffee and my morning egg with cheese, and then I was off to a busy day at work. Good NEWS is I'm still maintaining my weight and feeling WONDERFUL.

Hello Sweetie,
I can help you! I was a self pay too and I found a wonderful surgeron, he too has had the gastric bypass and the staff is wonderful. His name is doctor Byron Freeman (http://www.freemanandcompany.com ) his charges were way better than here in Atlanta. His office is in Alabama, and it was only and hour and 30 mins from my home in Stockbridge, GA. My total cost was just a little over 18,000.00. I hope that this helps.

I really can not answer you on this, but I have heard that some get approved now. But when I had my surgery it was not covered. That was 2 years ago. If you have done all of your clearences, you might get approved. But I think it has to be medicaly nessesary. Then does your company allow this type of coverage? Mine did not, so I paid cash!

I think that the Doctor that we going to be sponsering had to back out. I have been in contact with OH about this and they are really working on a lot of different things and are going to be making the EVENTS better for 2009. So keep looking and we will have one here in ATLANTA soon.

Reminder time !

I just wanted to remind everyone that is going to be coming to the SUPPORT GROUP meeting this month. That we are having a GUEST SPEAKER, He is a well know PLASTIC SURGERON at BUCKHEAD PLASTIC. His name is Dr. Alan Larson. Meeting time & Date is 6:30pm, August 26,2008 at HENRY MEDICAL CENTER, we are located in the Edu. Building; I will be in Class room A&B that night. Dr Larson will be giving the talk for about 45 mins and then he will answer all your questions after.

If you are planing on attending PLEASE PM me and let me know, sets are feeling up fast.

It is so good to hear that you like camping and horse back riding. These were a lot of things that I loved to do as well. It was just last year that I met a wonderful man that has really lighted my life. We go a lot of different places and we love riding our bikes that we got this year. I have really enjoyed camping, but we have been using a tent. It has really been fun!

I'm so happy that you are going to be able to do all the wonderful things that you really love to do once again.

Sweetie,
I know that you are a bottle of nerves at this time. I know that when I was getting ready for my RNY, I could not wait to have it over so that I could have my life back. That has now been 2 years ago this past July 27,2008. I'm really loving all the things that I'm able to do now and wanting to help others that want to gain a healthier life.

Pam, if I had not been able to have my surgery I think that my life as I know it today would not be as good as it is. I'm able to really enjoy all the things that I really love to do.

I want you to know that as a OH leader I'm here for you and will be able to help you all that I can along your way.

I just wanted to let you know that I too was a self pay, looking into getting WLS. I really found a GREAT DOCTOR in ALABAMA, his fees were alot less than here in GEORGIA. He also offered away to get financing, His name is Dr. Bryan Freeman. You can check the ALABAMA Board for more information.

RELAX Dear! You will do fine! Just listen to the Doctor and they will get things moving for you. I too have to take sythorid, and now that I have had my surgery my dose has been cut way in half. Good to see that you are posting. Keep posting because you will get a lot of SUPPORT here.

I too was a SELF PAY, my insurance was not going to cover anything. But I was able to get them to pay for all of my medical work ups that were required before surgery, blood test, ECEO, sleep study ECT......, I used a Doctor in ALABAMA, Dr. Bryan freeman, if you go to the ALABAMA BOARD you can click on his web site and get some infromation. I only paid just a little over 18,000.00. I really liked him because he too is a GASTRIC BYPASS PATENT, and he was only 1hr 45 mins from me.
